So, we've not restarted this project at our LGS. There is a strong Legacy community about 45 minutes away but I wanted to support the shop that's been so good to me.
So, I built a Legacy deck...
4 Bloodghast
4 Golgari Grave-Troll
4 Golgari Thug
4 Ichorid
4 Narcomoeba
3 Nether Shadow
4 Phantasmagorian
4 Shambling Shell
4 Stinkweed Imp
4 Street Wraith
Trying to get word out. I know it's a bit late for this but they expected local sign ups to fill the 100 spots but it's the week of the tournament and only 12 are registered. I thought about...
I'm going to agree with the majority and say that was a fantastic article. Very well written, researched, and thought out.
As a Legacy player at heart I see the format suffering pretty deeply...
Definitely appreciate the tips. I'll probably talk to everyone about the idea of proxies for a while at the store. The major complaint up there about Standard is the price of decks now and that...
Legacy.
Seriously could use some tips. At the moment the local store has about 50-60 regulars who play Standard. I hate Standard but desperately want to get some Legacy in. Some of the...
I played pure blue version with Helm of Awakening instead of Locket years ago. I had mild success. Not on a large scale but locally. If I had been a better player at the time I would've done...
Getting even more expensive is a terrifying prospect. Especially since it is happening to all the formats (seems to be hitting the eternals harder as their cards were already $25-60 for the chase...
I couldn't agree more.
Don't get him interested too early though. I suggest after he is able to comprehend the value of things (money/black bordered dual lands/etc) is the exact right time. ...
Chaos Orb
Although I have to admit Guardian Beast, All Hallow's Eve, Khabal Ghoul, and Necropotence come in a close second.
Realistically I"m looking at playing 1-3 times per month with around 6-10 people (unless a miracle happens). That's something I was taking in to account on the budget but....if I don't spend it on...
After talking things over with my wife I will have between 100 to 200 a month. Tax time probably around 1000-1500. I could afford to just pick up any deck I wanted but sending my son to a private...
I am worried about seeing a lot of mirror and even more graveyard hate due to the fact that pretty much everyone playing is mostly just attempting to get in to Legacy.
I did run a mono-blue storm...
Unfortunately I am a fan of thresh. I know its one of the more expensive deck builds.
Th main reason I am building dredge and goblins is I don't want to wait forever to play.
I did have a...
I absolutely despire the other formats (except for Vintage) but there is a lot of wisdom in playing a few to attempt to build up store credit.
Deals are something I hadn't really thought about...
Well, as we've almost all beaten the cost of Legacy horse to death I was just wondering what YOU personally recommend for breaking in to Legacy. Realistically I think I have gotten some pretty solid...
I don't think Wizards would ever reprint duals. List or not. Like you said they are functionally superior in every way, shape, and form.
I just read a really interesting article on the rising...
The horrible part is the first part of your post is happening. At what point is legacy too pricey though? When decks hit $2k? $3k?
Wizards can't kill an eternal format but they can let it die. ...
Reprint policy being what it is though makes any talk of reprints almost a moot point because some of the worst of the legacy offenders are on that list.
I've checked three shops in this area. ...
That's a really interesting idea for sure. I don't know how much weight I'd put in to it but realistically Wizards could make sure that the companies behind it wouldn't lose money.
Wish we'd get...
Right play: flip over table, punch opponent in face.
But seriously, this thread is a wonderful, wonderful idea. Really I think something like this could be a weekly type thing and would bring a...
Green can't seem to offer half the protection that blue can. Brainstorm and the Tops are used to keep the Gaea's Blessing away from your hand and in the library.
I originally did run more Gaea's Blessing. The top proved to be a pretty solid way to keep it away since end of turn mana is pretty common. But I do have to admit I'd like to fit another to be safe....
So far in testing it hasn't been bad at all.
And the clock to this deck is incredibly, incredibly slow.
So after a long hiatus I'm coming back to work on my semi-budget Mill deck.
I'll start with the deck list:
Artifacts: [11]
4x Mesmeric Orb
4x Tanglewire
3x Sensei's Divining Top
Blue...
