    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

Well yeah, the nature of having recurring threats makes the deck great at grinding out opponent's in grindy matchups when you can adequately fight through the graveyard hate. The bigger problem is...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

The inclusion of more lands instead of Lotus Petal makes more sense if you're running Bloodghast, especially since your list has transformed away from turn 1 speed and is more focused on getting big...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

The Caverns are not feasible in the Shadow list, but they work out perfectly fine in the rainbow list. The only non-creature spells I'm attempting to cast maindeck are Therapy and Once Upon a Time....

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

Well yeah, Rootwalla beatdown itself isn't strong at all, it's the turn 1 Hollow One's and Vengevine's that are. Rootwalla simply facilitates the turn 1 Vengevine's and Hollow One's more...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

I don't mean to take away from the discussion of the Shadow version by posting this, but this is what I am referring to by more speed:

    Lands (12)
    4 Cavern of Souls
    4 Undiscovered Paradise
    4...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

That diagnosis pretty much lines up with exactly what I've been saying.

The strength of this deck is its ability to overwhelm the opponent on turns 1-2 with too much for them to deal with. Slowing...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

Why would you run Gurmag Angler over Hogaak? The delve cost is less, you have enough black/green creatures to pay for it, and it's a significantly better threat than Gurmag. Not to mention the better...

    Re: SHiV (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

I like the second copy of Troll better than Reanimate, although I do get the value in Reanimate life loss for Shadow. Troll helps enable the core portion of your deck, and Troll is a much scarier...

    Re: S.H.V. (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

Brazen Borrower is legit. Easier to cast on your manabase, and probably better than Assassin's Trophy vs Leyline so you don't give them a free land drop. Getting a 3/1 flier out of it later is a...

    Re: S.H.V. (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

Fair enough on cutting Vengevine instead of Amalgam, although I think you underestimate how good Vengevine can still be postboard. Not every deck has the luxury of aggressively mulliganing into...

    Re: S.H.V. (Shadow-Hollow-Vine)

I would be cutting Amalgam's postboard instead of Vengevine unless you need the blue spell count for Force of Will. They require Vengevine or Bloodghast recursion to trigger them, so cutting...
