Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

The London mulligan's fucked everything into the ground. Play All Spells.

Latest of Bryant's leagues was pretty spectacular. Highlights include mainboard sideboard cards and an opponent who whinged Bryant out for netdecking.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

I'm not trying to be a butt-ass, but I genuinely don't understand about half of this.

Why would you only play four fetches if you're running (presumably) quad-Brainstorm? Forgive me if I'm newbing...

Bryant Cook, the best part is that it sort of looks like your opponent's apoplectically clenching his fist in the photo.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

In large part, I think you're right that it's a poor choice in a number of matchups [EDIT: I should rephrase. There are undoubtedly matchups in which boarding in Hurk is a poor choice], but I...

That or Hurkyl's Recall. I may be the only person who thinks this, but I think that card is severely underplayed in AnT, and I'm glad to see it's got a place in TES these days.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

That's true. I think it only costs 3 to hit old Thalia, though.

I'm wondering whether the "bigness" of the effect will outweigh the card's shortcomings. Probably still not fast enough to beat...

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

I'm curious to try the forthcoming Subterranean Tremors in AnT. Might circumvent Chalice and Thorn (and Trinisphere fwiw) and hatebears like Prelate. It's slow and expensive, but I think it might...

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

I'm not too worried. It's going to be a turn late to the party pretty often, and it still doesn't look as strong as Thalia, Ethersworn Canonist, et al.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

I think it should be quoted in both Storm primers, esp. regarding Grim Tutor in AnT.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

    That's actually not far off.

The difficult and hair-raising (and fun, I daresay) aspect of playing combo decks is that we're playing the most busted interactions in the format, but there are...

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

Bryant, LDX, and crew, thank you guys so much for doing these Infernal Tutorings. It's extremely helpful to see you guys explaining why you'd do what you'd do, especially because it's often hard to...

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

Thanks for the post, Asthereal! I'll give the list some tuning and take it for a spin. I've gotta get used to running a wishboard in Storm.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm

Would you mind sharing that list? I've been playing a lot of AnT lately and I'm interested in trying TES or a hybrid list just to see how it plays. If you've got any guidelines or observations about...
