No, I was talking about aggro loam as an archetype in general. Playing the deck for 4+ years at hundreds of tournaments you really get a feel for where it sits in the meta. It's the ultimate midrange...
Jelly, after playing around with it a bit I get the impression that 4x molten vortex could be a lot better than any number of punishing fire. If your loam goes according to plan, you always get to...
There's actually tremendous upside to this new card. The fact that it costs 1 instead of 3 is huge. Normally, you'd max out at two seismics whereas there's no real drawback to running four of these....
nantuko first striking beatdown like a bizzoss. I want to run rager for the same reason.
I think I would choose seismic assault over dreams because seismic is a lot better without loam and doesn't lead to blowouts when it gets countered.
i went 3-0 at a legacy mini today playing this list. Beat junk deathblade, burn and enchantress
4 foothills
2 catacombs
1 forest
3 badlands
1 taiga
1 bayou
3 burnwillows
1 graven cairns
I'M still trying to understand the logical jump inherent in this statement... what is the meaning of being a "bad jund deck"? are you saying that punishing fires and liliana are ONLY good in Jund? Or...
How effective liliana and punishing burnwillows is in jund has nothing to do with how effective it is in our deck. And I assure you--they are extremely effective here. And what does seismic assault...
Yes, and I'm sure that most stone blade players, upon seeing the brainstorms, jaces, stps and snapcasters in their deck think, "oh, what's the point! I might as well play miracles!"
...
don't get...
I think the combination of punishing burnwillows and Liliana is what we want to be playing right now. They lock up the game against virtually everything the fair decks can throw against us and are...
Have you played against UW a lot? What were they running? Were they on UWr? Punishing Miracles? Or were they running factories or other non-basics? Because you make it sound like cutting them off WW...
^^Congrats on the top 16. 4 DD seems like a lot, though..
I'm starting to get back into it again after taking virtually the whole year off from magic. Maybe I haven't been back long enough to play...
I stand corrected.
@ SDE Mat: I have to be honest, I never really liked the Grove/Fires combo. It's clunky and slow. However, since the last time I experimented with it, three significant things...
Does not shut off land exiling as that is a mana ability.
The three best options I have in mind thus far:
Bolt: kills delver and shaman, teams up with lavamancer against goyfs and tombstalkers, instant.
Forked Bolt: kills delver and shaman,...
Shaman and Lavamancer come out against UW. They're just not that useful in that matchup. I boarded out Lavamancer against Thresh and UR but kept Shaman in. Chalice on 1 blocking Shaman sucks but...
I imagine something like this:
2 Tarmogoyf
2 Uzi
4 Countryside Crusher
4 Dark Confidant
4 Abrupt Decay
4 Life from the Loam
I started running chalice in the sideboard when I did a lot of testing against Joe Lossett and found that the old options (Pyro, discard, Choke, revoker) were simply not good enough against miracles....
APMs in this instance simply refers to being able to do more things per turn (like cycling) and do things turns earlier simply because you have more mana. You can't just discount being a turn ahead....
I have to be honest, I don't think there's much mileage in playing a more aggressive build. Life from the loam naturally lends itself to a control deck. In almost every matchup, even against UW, we...
Haste is pretty slammin
I've been playing bloodbraid in the board mainly for the UW matchup and it has been decent but the random of cascade can ocften make it a bust. Cascade into seismic is like best possible, but you...
Hanni, you're wrong. Life from the loam still shits on blue decks. Seriously, what's all the doom and gloom about? Yes, UW Miracles is more difficult a matchup than its predecessor, Stoneblade.
...
With no crusher and no seismic assault what do you even run red for? Do you run red? Seismic, Crusher and Lavamancer are the reasons to run red and if you're not then you might as well just dump it...
