It was tough in the Whir build with only 3 non islands.

I may swing back to mono U with the recent bannings. Czech pile on a down tick means a while before the Hymn+FOW+abrupt Decay decks wreck me.

If a spell is modal and has "target" twice printed, then spellskite can change each target.

If the spell or ability only says "target" once, like elder deep fiend, or Forked bolt, then it does NOT...

Things I was trying out. Echoing Truth is better IMO.

I like Jace. Didn't have it. Tezzeret gets wincons straight up rather than brainstorming for them. Can also grab bridge.

Haven't tried the transformational SB but otherwise a pretty stock mono U list.

I'd probably bring it in post sb with another RIP.

I think the problem is the combo can work in any color combo deck. So far I've seen:

Whir has been the best card for me. Mono blue isn't all gas like other color combos IMO. It's more responsive. The instant speed and artifact convoke is insane and usually gets anything I want turn 3...

Whir is my new favorite card. I play mono blue though.

Considering going white instead of red. Access to STP, canonist and tutor is obvious. Feel like canonist can help with counter wars.

I've been thinking it's possible the 4 missing cards were Tormods crypt and 3 blasts the whole time with 4 card missing from the SB.

I have welders and blasts. Need tarns and volcs.

Plan is to run mostly mono U list, fit the 4 welders in and 3-4 blasts main deck.

I've been playing Dredge and now Red storm to gear up for EW.

Daze has been good, but would probably not run it mained. I've picked up more blasts an ensnaring bridge and spellbomb to try out now....

I've been wanting to mash in an Aether Spellbomb.

I actually get flooded. A LOT.

May drop one tomb and one island.

Daze as been pretty good. I can test Hydroblast next.

Been playing with Probes for 2 weeks. it's been dead 100% of the time or actually a hindurance. It does nothing in this deck.

edit-in addition, no other painter deck plays probes that i've seen.

I saw a list with 1 bridge and 3 lotus petals mained. Seems good to me.
