    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Ok, thanks for the advice !
I will try to find some room for the extra Needle in the main (I already play Night of Soul Betrayal in the SB, along with The Abyss, and I really love it)

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Until recently, I was very happy with my mana-denial build (4 Sinkhole, 2 Nether Void, 2 Chains...).
In this post ban meta, Sinkhole seems strong. But there are so many D&T around ! Aether Vial is...

In most build (the non-aggro ones), Phyrexian Arena is even better I think.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Against Dredge, I mull very aggressively to find one of my 3 Leylines (down to 3 cards if needed). When it hits the board, it is an auto concede for the opponent.

    Concerning Depths decks : maybe...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Do you mean in a creature package ?

Personnally I am still fan of it, in a Sinkhole-Void-Chains build (especially if there are more basics in the post ban meta).
I also consider running a single...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

I confirm Brightling is annoying. The Abyss can help here.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

I agree that it is not enough on its own, but the point is that you don't play WoC for the combo ; you play it if in your meta WoC is already merely playable (ex lot of Burn, discard...) AND because...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

I love Chains in the current meta.
It is great against blue cantrips, Leovold, Strix, Probe, Jace, Sylvan Library, Tireless tracker, Glimpse, Faithless looting, Griselbrand...

    I was wondering :...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Sometimes I wonder if different primers wouldn't be usefull... from one build to another, we want to do very different things with different cards !

Otherwise, without an accurate context, it is...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Just a few thoughts about Sinkhole.
OK, it does very little on its own, but it is a great part of my very effective "you won't play anything" package :
    4 Wasteland + 1 Crucible
    1 Tabernacle
    4...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

OK, Burn is not a fantastic MU, but honestly Dragon Stompy (I prefer to call it MonoRed Prison) is not that bad.
We play a lot of basics, and we have great tools to fight their creatures (Night of...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

If you run 4 Rituals and 25+ lands, you may also consider Ob Nixilis.
More expensive than Arena, but same CA, and additional creature removal and a non creature-based win con (great if you run...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

Good analysis. Miracles could be slow, but they have the answers, they have the CA and they can topdeck an game-ending Entreat any time (so yes, LotV is not really good against them, even T1)....

And why not Grim Tutor ? It's just more flexible than BTQ and more reliable than Rhystic tutor.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

I once tried a Chalice build. The idea is to is to play it T1 with X=1 and then attack their mana base so they cannot cast their higher CMC spells. Maybe this one has a future with some mox & Karn ? ...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

The "silver bullet approach" makes sense if the cards you are going to tutor are here to seal the deal in the mid or late game (Abyss, Nether Void), and not not to stabilize the board.
    If money was...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

No dark rituals as I believe this card is really overrated in this deck, if not being actually bad

    So true...
