Is Wheel of Sun and Moon supposed to be something else?
If not, walk me through...
Compared to Sacred Mesa, it doesn't seem to be too good. It needs a huge initial investment to do its job effectively, and is not immediately reusable if your opponent has an answer, which there are...
So, I heard Eventide has been spoiled so I browsed a bit. Some interesting things here and there, and then this showed up:
Helix Pinnacle
G
Enchantment Rare
Shroud
{X}: Put X tower counters...
I think the best use is in Survival variants. 4 Magi to slow the opponent down for when you don't have Survival out. It's only applicable in a meta where Magi hurts a lot though.
I think people are tired of playing with and against this deck. I know me and my friends have dropped playing it because it's been overdone. Still, if we pick it up again in the future, I highly...
I'm trying to retool my survival deck, but I'm still not sure if I'm happy with the builds with the current metagame in mind.
Couple of inquiries:
What are opinions on still using the...
My friend's been using Withered Wretch to a very decent effect. Its application is very wide and relevant in today's format to be considered a consistent MD choice, imo.
Agreed... Decks like Thresh can just use their cantrips on their turn and that won't affect them that much. And if there's a must-counter spell, they'll counter it anyway and take the 4/4 that will...
I like the fact that Mesa can pump stuff out without the card draw. It seems like a faster finisher if you have a lot of draw already going, but if you have that much drawing, I think winning won't...
I don't see how, compared to matron, an increase of 1 power is worth the fact that the goblin doesn't come into your hand.
I think straight up Control Magic would be a better call, with the amount of removal that runs around in this format.
And an anti-slivers tech!
Hmm really does seem worth checking out, I'll give it a test whirl.
That's what I was thinking... it's decently easy to play in R/W, is a goblin, and can easily make your otherwise unimpressive bodies into a 3/3 at least.
The other card also seems pretty good.
...
Yeah, but you can still play spells to deal with those 3/3s or manlands or what have you without the threat of being decked.
Still not saying it's good, I'm really not sure yet, but I bet people...
Looks like a guy has a spoiler. Not sure if it's 100% reliable yet but looks that way.
Neo Duress confirmed... RARE. God help our wallets.
Might see some interesting merfolk tribal cards or something... like tribal instant that's a counterspell that says 'unless you pay X for each merfolk you control'.
Too bad Tidal Courier is pretty...
I like Manta Riders...
But yeah some techy 1cc would be nice.
Psychological effect, maybe?
With an island being dropped, your mentality switches to a mode that makes you tread the game more carefully, since more likely than not your opponent will be playing...
Doesn't make much sense to me. This is their way of putting out 'new idea for a card.' I suppose they could've made similar cards as an Enchantment or something, but I don't see how the new card type...
Planeswalker revealed.

But we still don't know for sure what it actually does.

Well mine was pretty old, so.
But there's actually another BGW sliver thread I saw when I searched.
Here's a build I was testing some time ago:

I tried to maximize the strength of slivers by using Confidant+ draw engines and Vials to spit...
Evokes and Champions seems like there's going to be something very good for Survival. Ones revealed already looks pretty testable.
I have fun with UGR Thresh. With all the filter, it can always play out its 'A gameplan'. Reliability goes a long way for me when playing this game, since I hate getting mana screwed or just things...
I tend to agree with this...
Having played UGR thresh for a while, it pretty much plays like a 'counterburn' deck. It adds green for a permenant source of damage, which the deck desperately...
