  1. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

Yeah, this card is better than JTMS in the right deck. Now it's good in Modern too. This one is real and not hype. It was undervalued before.
  2. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

First time I've felt like cashing out. So much money just sitting in my closet. I like having the cards but, damn, I like a shit load of cash. Best/easiest way to cash out sell the good stuff on Ebay...
  3. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

Uh, no one is speculating on Avacyn and not just because it's stupid to speculate on such an expensive card. You seem to be confusing "casual (not just EDH) players and collectors love these types of...
  4. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

Stranglehold is probably the best red card in EDH and it's an asymmetrical effect that can fit into any deck. So, there's that. I bought a few a couple weeks back and there just weren't that many...
  5. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

Port sees play in Lands, which has been doing pretty damn well recently. It also sees play in D&T. Both decks run it as a four-of. Port is also from a set that is over a decade old, that wasn't very...
  6. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

I think I'm OK with them doing a MM every year if they do it with the print run of the first release. The prices of staples might stabilize and keep pace with the growing number Magic players every...
  7. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

Oh man I was certain that they'd be able to print Legendary duals after the legend changes, what a bummer. That would have been really good for the game as a whole.
  8. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

This just seems really weird; Rishadan Port isn't on the reserved list, isn't in a popular deck(Goblins, D&T and Lands?) and isn't played in casual land. This can't be right.
  9. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

So Oblivion Stone is sold out most everywhere at 10$. What is the reason for this? An adjustment in the price due to the popularity of Commander(it is one of the most played cards there), the...
  10. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

I don't think any of the Scars lands will be worth shit when they rotate. They aren't playable anywhere, especially Commander.
  11. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

XD is also very good with Profane Command.
  12. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

Easy. A good rule of thumb for Type 2 legal cards is wait till they rotate, which is soon. It can take a little while for the prices to dip but it'll happen.
  13. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

Clique is super duper good. But I can't see it at the prices it's at now. It's not as old as something like Confidant or ubiquitous as Goyf. Blue seems neutered in Modern so I don't think clique will...
  14. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

Clique is also really, really good right now in Legacy.
  15. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

Yeah, I think it was somewhere around 15-ish when it was Standard legal and seen play in Extended and Legacy and I don't recall it ever getting lower than that which is a bit odd. It's certainly good...
  16. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

It's been that way for awhile. It's very popular in Commander.
  17. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

I don't think anyone is going to quit Legacy and play Modern if they have invested any money into the format. It looks like a fun format in its own right but there is no way it can replace Legacy.

  18. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

I'd buy/trade for ZEN fetches after they rotate. They might go down but probably not much. Regardless most people won't value them too highly so they should be pretty easy to get a hold of. They...
  19. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

I have a hard time imagining that. People build decks around Aether Vial. If you don't answer it, it can shut down entire strategies and gives you a big advantage against control and aggro decks. If...
  20. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

WOW. You're right. What a fucking cluster fuck of bullshit. How and the fuck does this make any sense?
  21. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

Actually, I'm pretty sure it is. Every rare before Masques Block is one the list, I think.
  22. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

You've obviously never played with Mana Drain otherwise you'd never say something so patently absurd. Mana Drain is one of the most brutal tempo swings in the game. The price of Mana Drain would...
  23. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

God these prices are fucking insane. I need 2 more Wastelands to finish off my 3rd set. Do I buy now? Since it is like a mega-hyper format staple it might be reprinted at some point in a box set....
  24. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

As a matter of fact yesterday they were sold out at SCG and were 25. Then later that night they were 50$ which was the same for most of the other online stores. I have no clue why Sword of Fire and...
  25. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

QFT. This is the best way to make money and expand your collection without having to pay out the nose for everything. SFM was pretty obvious. Card advantage on a reasonably priced body. The next...
