People are still playing Punishing Fire? I haven't seen a PF Maverick in several months at least. Beat them with a more consistent mana base and side Surgicals if you have to. No reason to play...
Seems like unnecessary jank.
I own three and desperately want to use them. Is it actually good against RUG? Is it worth splashing to black for?
Which was basically my point and I think yours. IMO, neither is needed or good enough to play.
Why not just run Arena if you want to have a creature fight another creature?
I can't imagine not playing them. They're silver bullet tutor targets for common matchups. For only taking up two slots in the deck, they're incredibly powerful.
What IBA said.
Why are you comparing Fauna Shaman to Aven Mindcensor?
If you want to fight Combo: Gaddock Teeg, Thalia
If you want to fight Maverick: Linvala (I understand that all opponents magically draw...
Results with Aven:...
Because it's unreliable at doing all of those? I've played plenty of games with Aven and plenty without. Never missed her and all of the awesome scenarios you describe don't happen nearly as often...
That they magically draw? Not like they can Knight for it.
Additionally, the second Ooze is significantly worse than the first Ooze. You play multiplies so that when your first Ooze dies, your second Ooze can continue. I would have a hard time seeing more...
Especially considering they were never even Standard playable. I can't imagine what you would take out to put in sub-par cards.
No it wasn't. Only the top 8.
First, some of the auto-includes and why they're auto-includes. Why does every list start with Knight, GSZ, Mom. What makes a Maverick deck a Maverick deck.
Then, IMO, one of the things that...
Batterskull was not that impressive for me. It doesn't provide any protections and is a bit of a liability if they kill your SFM. I never felt the need for it with Jitte in the deck.
I played Adam Cai round 9 when we were both 7-1 and he absolutely destroyed me with Elesh Norn. It really stomps the mirror. He didn't even need to Retainer it in. Cradle + mana dudes was more...
Goblins was pretty easy actually. Batterskull and Jitte combined with Mother of Runes is a lot of hate for them. One thing that came up that was incredibly important was stopping his Ports. I had...
Ended up 4-2 at SCG Indy with Maverick.
Round 1: Beat Mirror (friend and playtest buddy)
Round 2: Lost to Reanimator
Round 3: Beat Goblins
Round 4: Beat Affinity
Round 5: Beat Goblins
Round...
2-3x Pridemage
4x Green Sun's Zenith
4x Swords to Plowshares
That's too few answers to Dreadnought? Plus more in the board?
I have no doubt about this. I'm just tired of Drago popping up in every thread crying about how Storm is going to beat everything.
I agree that the extra hate bear/utility guy is the way to go. ...
We get it. Everyone will lose to Storm. No one can possibly stop it. We should all just give up and play Storm.
I'm not seeing many lists up that are running both Misstep and Mother. How are you squeezing that in?
Runed Halo is a nice one. Solves a lot of problems.
That's kind of what I was thinking too. The ability to stop a Bolt or Fire/Ice on a Teeg/Mindcensor many times is a lot better than doing it once. And pushing damage through a Progenitus sounds...
Is Misstep or Mother of Runes better against NO RUG?
I really like the Enlightened Tutor/Artifact/Enchantment sideboard plan as well. Teeg main for sure. Trying to sort out the correct number...
