Hoorah! And setting up the combo can't be intervened by with creature removal as with Iona....

Null rod really shines in this matchup. If you combine null rod with path to exile for removing lord of atlantis, you will probably be ok.

One of the few aggro-control decks that has a good matchup against control e.g., thx to iona.

me and Waikiki played bant survival in a 65 player tournament this weekend. Results weren't that great however.

It's better than propaganda for sure.

Except that it's difficult to keep a decent blue count after sb for force of will.

I never succeeded in getting 3 mana on the board against tempo thres.

I play 19 land, of which 3 basics and 4 hierarch. Burn, stifle and waste and spell snare/daze for the two drops...well maybe...

Some more tournament data, I did two tournaments this weekend. I play a list with 4 daze.

It depends totally on your metagame.

If you got a lot of ANT and Zoo, well maybe cb-top is obviously a better choice of deck.
If it's more tribal oriented (gobs, faeries, ...), I guess...

What about misdirection in the maindeck, instead of spell snare or spellstutter?
- you can support it
- it can force through your survival more easily
- it protects your...

I still haven't really heard a solid and complete sb strategy vs merfolk. Everybody's saying it's a good matchup, but you don't really seem to agree on the sbstrategy.

I'll try to sum it all...

Please test. Preboard you will probably lose most of the games.

If Merfolk adds creature control magic (threads of disloyalty or mind harness) and Relic of Progenitus, you will not stand a chance...

Like I said to you, there's no greater pride in competitive magic than winning/splitting a tournament with a self-invented deck that nobody else plays....

About the merfolk matchup : it is quite horrible.
Post-sb Mongoose is pretty dead thanks to relic of progenitus. I've tried all configurations, from null rods to pithing needles.

- does it reallly fit in this topic? Hell, what is UGW thres these days...
- no daze or spell snare? You are low on counters.
- your land count is quite low....

A minor point of Qasali Pridmage is fitting it into the manabase. I think however this point can be crucial, fetching basics is not that easy if you play the pridemage.
