Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

Jeska's Will is basically 4 more Seething Song early game (that turns into a weak card draw spell mid/late game, mostly not going to be relevant).

It will even make 6-7 mana the majority of the...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

Has anyone tried out the modal double faced lands in the deck?

    Shatterskull Smashing
    Song-Mad Treachery
    Valakut Awakening

all seem like playable cards and quite good at improving consistency...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

Ilharg the Raze Boar should absolutely be a 4 of if you're going to dedicate 10 slots to uncastable creatures. But I think dedicating 10 slots of creatures you can never hard cast might be a mistake....

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

Yeah I really don't get the logic in 4 Trinisphere. 3 is plenty and it's useless in multiples.

And I absolutely think Chalice is 4 of MD and much stronger than Faithless.

    I would go...

Yes, the same list. Play it with friends, dont have MTGO.

    Side is...
    4 Faerie Macabre
    3 Defense Grid
    3 Trinisphere
    2 Fiery Confluence
    2 Cratermaker
    1 Blood Moon

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

How do you guys like Crystal Vein? 9 mountain is plenty but I cant decide between 1 vein + 2 sandstone vs just playing 3 sandstone.

DNS Solver, I love both your lists. In the list without Titan, I...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

I sometimes cut both petal and some seething songs when I know its going to be a long game against a controllish matchup. Might not be correct.

I didnt like Fiery Confluence. Titan plays a similar...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

I wouldnt say that Ilharg is the best card in the deck, but its probably top 3, just behind Sneak Attack and Chalice.

Yes, thats what I am testing now. I like it. Its solid acceleration and...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

Ilharg is definitely not win more. Just the opposite. Proxies of it already won me plenty of games by itself that I otherwise would have whiffed.

If a Chalice on 1 landing and sticking around...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

I like Wurm except vs StP. Wurm can win the game by itself when paired with any of the sneak effects, but it has no natural immunity to exile/tuck/bounce effects.

    Emrakul, while it doesnt do...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

Yeah Ilharg is amazing. I am sold on it as a 4. With it, I am noticing a turn 1/2 sneak effect just about every hand that has a Seething Song in it which makes me think that Seething Song as a 4 of...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

I love the all in approach. Hell replace the Fiery Confluence with Blightsteel Collossus or Griselbrand or Emrakul or Inferno Titan to make it even more of a turn 1/2 win deck.

    Or Chandra instead...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

The deck only plays 8 colorless mana sources. Pairing them with 4TKS seems very inconsistent.

The main advantage of the boar is to increase consistency. This deck has no cantripping, no tutors and...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

I think a list like this is the correct path to take with this deck...

    4 Chalice of the Void
    4 Ilharg, the Raze-Boar
    4 Sneak Attack
    4 Through the Breach

    3 Worldspine Wurm
    3 Emrakul, the...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

Yeah, that card is fantastic. Where to slot it in?

Is it good enough to take up the flex slots + 2 of Through the Breach slots?

Or is Through the Breach better?

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

Its a very cool card. I would worry about fizzling unless we tweak the list to better support it. Because it would suck to invest a bunch of mana and destroy our own artifacts just to get a Lotus...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

I agree, the card seems great for the deck. Much better than Godo. Also pairs beautifully with Madcap Experiment for any lists that opt to play it along with 4 Blightsteel.

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

The list I posted above is not slow. Anything but. It tends to win many games on turn 1 or 2 or turn 3 at the latest. What Madcap adds to it is consistency and redundancy that will let it take over...

Re: Big Red (Mono-R Sneak Attack)

I agree lost ronin soul. Its a great all around card that serves to let the deck stay in the match even if we fail to combo out and thus warrants testing.

However, the new card Im really excited...
