    Re: Your Fave deck?

I love me some Doomsday, TES, Armageddon Stax, Solidarity and It's The Fear. (It's possible that I'm that guy.)

I hate ANT. Why would you play it over another storm deck? Also Belcher. I'm...

Awesome. I'll check out Card Kingdom and Green Lake Games. Do you play in the area?

    Re: Legacy/Limited in Seattle

Sorry for necroing the thread, but I just moved to Seattle (right by UW) and I'm looking for a place to play some legacy. Honestly, I'm looking for a place to play any magic, but a solid legacy base...

Re: Do you play Legacy on MTGO?

Oh man, I bought NLS online back in June 2010. Two weeks later they banned mystical tutor, so I got annoyed and didn't play for a long time. I finally bought the few more cards I needed for TES and...

    Re: [Deck] Fetchland Tendrils

The Emrakul plan probably isn't best suited to matches like affinity. It's really meant for blue decks like counterbalance or snapblade that have good answers to the storm plan, but not so much...

    Re: [Discussion] Hate-bear hierarchy

I play a lot of TES and Doomsday. I'd agree with everyone else that Ethersworn Canonist and V. Clique are by far the most dangerous. Clique is slower, but can be devastating if you get caught with...

    Re: Magic Math Help

Ooh, that's classy. I like it much better than my method (I was a little slow with my edit, so in case you didn't see it it's in the last post).

I also verified with my method that sum from...

    Re: Magic Math Help

That's an excellent point. I cheated. The problem is that compositions don't count 0+4+2 and 4+2+0 separately. That means I undercounted by quite a bit. I'll think about it some more and see if I...

    Re: Magic Math Help

What you're looking for are compositions of 60 (basically ordered sums). To make things easier to write out, let's pretend you only have a 6 card deck, instead of 60. In addition, let's say you...

Re: [Deck] T.E.S - The EPIC Storm

I was really bored tonight, so I wrote up an analysis of a quick game (well, goldfish) for a local forum. None of it should be particularly revealing to anyone who already knows the deck, but I...
  11. Re: Most ridiculously complicated goldfish/real combo kill?

Oh man, my friend made a Channel-Mirror deck like that a while ago. It was so much fun! I goldfished one game for roughly 45 minutes. Once it gets going, you can use memory jar (and force in his...

Re: [Deck] T.E.S - The EPIC Storm

I've used that chrome mox, LED trick a couple times in testing, but I don't think it's come up in a tournament. It's pretty useful for pushing your Ad Nauseam through a spell pierce/cursecatcher.

    Re: [Deck] Fetchland Tendrils

I've been using that exact manabase for a while now, and I haven't had any issues with it. The basic swamp may be a crutch in the tempo matches (I don't think so, but I haven't practiced the match...

    Re: [Deck] Fetchland Tendrils

I mostly agree with admiral and jeff on the hands. 9 is a clear mull, a couple of the others are mediocre but keepable (1 and 6 in particular), the rest are solid. 3 is particularly awesome.

  15. Re: [TES-3rd] Starcitygames.com Open: Los Angeles

Probably the other guy. I wasn't playing in the side event (I scrubbed out of standard 10 minutes too late), but the 3C TES deck beside you was mine. I sat down in time to watch John draw pretty...
  16. Re: [TES-3rd] Starcitygames.com Open: Los Angeles

Congratulations! Excellent job with an awesome deck. I was actually sitting beside you guys at the end of the legacy side event on Saturday and was really impressed with both of your play. I...

24th at SCG LA with Doomsday

After much waffling back and forth, I decided to run Doomsday in LA. The other deck under serious consideration was TES, and I also toyed with the idea of joining the Arizona Burn project. (For...

Re: [DTW] T.E.S - The EPIC Storm

Pretty much the only time I do it is if I'll have exactly enough mana to go off next turn and therefore won't be able to play chant on the turn I go off. Otherwise, it seems unwise.

Re: [DTW] T.E.S - The EPIC Storm

I don't pretend to be an amazing TES player, but I'll give my thoughts on the subject.

It depends on context. If I've seen your hand recently and you haven't had too many draws to find a...

Am I blind, or are the tournament reports missing?

Also, awesome videos. I wish every tournament came with these.
  21. Re: [1st Place] TES at the Connections Moat Tournament

Congrats on the win. It's always good to see storm beat so many force of wills.

What did your sideboard look like? Was it Bryant's minus a pyroblast?
  22. Re: Sad but true: Match-up estimations gone wild

Well I guess we actually agreed, then. That'll teach me to read more carefully.

@Cthuloo: I don't see any particular reason for the distribution of play skill to be normal. If anything, I'd...
  23. Re: Sad but true: Match-up estimations gone wild

That's a little ridiculous. For one thing, "statistical law" doesn't mean your answer will never change drastically, it means your answer will probably not change drastically (for some value of...

    Re: SenseiSensei Retract

I hate to get stuck on a particular point, but remember that lodestone golem only works on nonartifact spells. Admittedly, I haven't tested the deck, so I don't know how tight the mana requirements...
