The choices in the format are: RUG aggro-control, UW aggro-control, GW aggro-control and S&T combo.

Aggro simply doesn't exist anymore (as in Delver is a better Zoo deck than Zoo, and Gobs......

True, but blue was never as opressive as it is now. There were always niche cards that could challenge blue's dominance (Vial).

Misstep sucks.

The card is useless in type 2, so it must have been tailor-made for eternal formats.

I can only imagine all the blue mages getting raging hardons the moment they saw the card....

I like it how fish, one of the best decks in the format could only be improved by... adding Goyfs to it. Apparantly its so good that making the mana base more fragile in a wasteland infested format...

Mana Drain is debatable. It could revitalize true control. Price is not an issue either as I think Tarmo's are nearly as expensive as Drains now. On the other hand it might end up fueling some...
