Pyrokinesis is there to bridge the gap in the early turns till Sharphooter becomes active which can often be a turn to slow. It's mostly just there for Elves.

Trashman's printing and these bannings are pretty nice. I think that not having to play as many (or any) Tarfires is as good as Lackey not being stonewalled by Deathrite. Combo decks being slowed by...

You should be able to buy time with Tarfire, Pyorkinesis, Gempalm if you have to play a slow Sharphshooter. Otherwise, Sharpshooter comes down with haste and does what he does.
