I thought it has a pretty bad matchup against Lands, Merfolk and Suicide (all of which show up in my meta).
I would play Affinty. There's a high chance to you'll face a lot of aggro, against which Mono Black isn't that good. Also, you probably won't see a lot of artifact hate besides Krosan Grip.
