Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Exactly on point. That’s why I think that it is a bad argument for torpor orb to be good against control decks. Yes, it is okay, but I would still board out most of the Dreadnoughts, if not all.

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

You still have to find and resolve the Orb. That’s still two cards. Would you board in the Orb if you didn’t have Dreadnoughts? I think the card is fine, I just don’t think it’s the right way to go...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

    @Mr.Safety
I just don’t understand why I would bring it in against Miracles/Grixis control when I’m anyway boarding out Dreadnoughts. If some of you guys are leaving them in and leaning heavily on...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

I believe you guys on Torpor Orb. Just, Dreadnoughts are currently a secondary plan for me at most, so I don`t see the point for me to run more enablers for it. If I was on 4 Noughts, I could see it...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

I totally agree with this, as it is also shown in my reports. Counterbalance has never really been a problem either, because it’s almost impossible to resolve it against this deck. I think my record...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Small 3-round tournament last night. Went 3-0. I was testing some sideboard options and had 15 1-offs there, but didn’t really need any of them. Main deck same as before.

    2-0 against Elves. First...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Sure, Dreadnought is great in quite a many matchups, but against many of the most popular decks, it’s just an easy 2 for 1 for your opponent. Unles it goes unanswered, then it’s obviously game. I...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

I used to play TNN in the main, but decided to switch it with lavaman. Could see both ways being correct depending on the meta. Though Lavaman is quite a lot better with standstill, so you have...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

That is exactly why I think Snare is great right now: Miracles and Grixis Control.
But it is indeed a hit or miss, no doubt about it.

There is enough bad match ups for both Pierce and Snare, so...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Obviously there is FoW and wasteland to answer those things, that is the crucial thing that your version is missing half of, which is why I can understand that you don’t like Snare. I would never cut...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

I disagree with some of the decks you listed. Against DnT and Goblins, snare is still okay if you deal with their caverns. Atleast I have 15 other cards in my 75 that are worse than them, nothing...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Heh, car worked just fine :D it was my "personal gaming engine" that didn't start the way I wanted (=0-2 start) I'm old I guess.
Anyway, congrats on your finish! Your matchups seemed to have been...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Played to a 5-2 record in the Finnish legacy nationals. 109 players. Sadly my engine started a bit too late and I starded the tournament with a 0-2 record.

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

I actually like the idea of this. Not that I would play it over the regular UR versions, because I just like my bolts and lavamancers more. But I think it has potential and it looks fun too and you...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

And still lost with a Dreadnought on board, even after they wasted their pump spell on it? :)

(hint: Vines does nothing to the Stifle on the TRIGGER)

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

I havent’t, but I’d say there is already so much card disadvantage in the deck that it can’t really handle more; standstill can only recover so much. Maybe your version without FoW can make use of...

True-Name Nemesis and more fetch lands for starters. Engineered Explosives for chalice and other things, Vapor Snag for marit lage. Maybe Vendilion Clique too. 3 Dismembers seems like a lot, I would...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Not sure if this still qualifies under this thread, but I'd like to think that it does. So, I used to play a lot DreadStill back in the days (even after it was no longer considered good anymore). I...

    Re: [Deck] Ur Landstill

The difference in my list to the one abowe is basically: -1 Wasteland, -1 Jace, -1 Kozileks, -1 Crucible (I have it in the sb) and +1 Conclave, +1 Counterspell and +2 Sudden Shock. SB is technically...

Small tournament report from Prague, this was the list I played:

    4 Factory
    3 Wasteland
    4 Volcanic
    1 Tropical
    3 Island
    2+2+2+2 Blue fetch lands

    2 Lavamancer

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

I'd say it's pretty absurd to wipe the board with Ponder/Brainstorm as your 4th spell for TITI and drop Standstill after that. Not to say that I would slot TITI to the same deck with Dreadnought, but...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

My point about infect was, that anyway the best plan is to fight their creatures, as they only run 12 and they absolutely need at least 1 to win with. In this plan, mentioning Dreadnought as a good...

    @Fox
Your list looks at least interesting. Obviously it's not DreadStill, but more like "all-in Dreadnought". DreadStill, at least the way I have built it, is supposed to be able to assume a...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Originally I boarded like this: (for those not familiar with my guide, this is the 15 cards in my sideboard after sideboarding for game 2/3.)
    2 Sulfur
    2 Needle
    2 EE
    2 Trickbind
    2 Dreadnought
