The new cards from conspiracy aren't even on modo yet, so surely no changes
Lol what are you on about? Show n Tell with ponder and preordain and maybe burning wish isn't less consistent than belcher XD and belcher doesn't run brainstorm so you wouldn't literally be making...
I mean the arguement was these kinds of cards wouldn't be played without brainstorm, not that decks would be just as good without it.
I don't agree with that, so we can agree to disagree on this point too :)
Don't really have much to respond to this, it feels like you're talking to someone else in a conversation about something else. Decks play situational cards without brainstorm. I don't get what...
Well sure they are kind of all interchangable because of blue dominance in blue decks, and blue prominence in the format.. That's kind of want I mean.
I would say brainstorm and ponder abuse...
That same reasoning applies to fetchlands right? Except they support an even wider variety of decks consistency wise. I think comparing brainstorm to fetchlands is a bit disengenious because...
Has a fetchland ever 32/32'd a GP?
If one did that would also surely belie a power imbalance in the format.
I think he was heavily implying it's NOT fine in his opinion. I think like his article on land destruction, he acknowledged it is fun to be the winner, but it isn't necessarily fun / good for the...
I mean if you're trying to say we should ban brainstorm because it causes the common cold, then I think we should give you a raise.
@Crimhead, I think that is what people have been generally...
Right I see, that makes a lot more sense. Thank you, and good idea.
Also good point regarding ~52% win rate IN the top 8 against other tier 1 decks that are meant to be favourable against miracles...
Excuse my ignorance, how did you get the win rate number? Is it something you calculated, if so how? Or is it somewhere located on mtgtop8 that I can't seem to find?
@Lemnear, could you please...
Trying to decipher this is difficult.
So you used the "Major Events decks (50+ players)" option on MTG Top 8? Isn't that derived from the top placing decks though, not necessarily top 32 or top...
So... How about that data Lemnear? Would be interesting to see.
Interesting, thanks guys.
Edit: Am I the first happy customer from the B&R thread XD
The DTB stats include Modo legacy league results right? Is there anywhere on the web where you can see the online stats or the IRL stats seperate from each other? I'd hazard a guess that Miracles is...
Not sure if you all know, but it's currently "Legacy Festival" on MTGO or something like that. Has been for a month or so. I really doubt they would ban something while they are promoting the format,...
I mean my tongue was placed firmly out of cheek :P so you can take that straw out of my butt and feed it to a horse or something.
Obviously the mentor main, mentor sideboard and mentorless builds...
...
What about..
Miracles...
..with
..mentor?
Lol ok, yes sir!
No... For example, non-blue GBx decks that proactively interact via discard were severely hampered by dig through times presence in the format in all sorts of decks.
I find interesting that there isn't a main deck white card until 21st place Miracles list.
Not sure what to make of that, just an observation
They should have printed it in one of the other sets as 6GG with delve. Blue got two dumb card draw spells and black some undercosted beatsticks and green gets giant giant growth and a smaller beat...
So if I want to be competitive in legacy tournaments, my core deck construction choices are D&T, Elves, Lands or blue FoW+filters?
Wow, that's a wide open format for deck construction. so...
When a grixis control deck and a mono blue combo deck are running the same 24 of ~40 nonland cards, something's gotta give right?
