I'm trying to tune a Miracle Still list based on the one that top8ed Ghent last year.
There is no comparison when you are playing a Standstill control deck with 4 tops vs one without tops. Top is...
Dismantling is a very nice answer to Stoneforge Mystic based strategies, anyway my personal preference still goes to Disenchant (I know cc2 goes under Spell Snare but cc3 is really awkward against...
In fact, Ancestral Vision is not played in Standstill builds, and vice versa.
In pre-Misstep printing Standstill was not very played, then Misstep happened, and Standstill became super good again....
I don't know what you are talking about Spell Snare. I understand that you can find all kind of cc's, but almost every deck has a crucial cc2 drop. There are actually tier decks (blade variants)...
I played a 12 man tournament today as a warm up for a 50 players one that I'll attend tomorrow.
I tried an UWr build (I always liked UWb but I'm reconsidering Pyroblasts as I'm seeing too much Snt...
If your spot removals are Misstep proof, this means that every Brainstorm/ Top that you cast in late game and in g2-g3 (if he doesnt board MM out) will be countered. Not good.
While almost unplayable in Legacy, sac lands + Schackles is good enough for my Hanna EDH, thanks for suggestion.
Anyway, what's the point of running Karn above the 4th Jace? Anybody tested that...
Probably if you want to run 4 Repeal purely as a Standstill enabler, then you should probably be running Pernicious Deed and play UBG, or play Wog/ DoJ again.
Repeal is good in:
-situations where...
I would not play Landstill without 2/3 Jaces. Thopter Sword is cool, but gets disrupted way more often even pre-sb (just think about Pithing, EE, E plague, Pernicious etc...) and is a more fragile...
( Double post)
Yesterday I played a 50-ish players tournament. Record: a very disappointing 3-3. First thing that comes to mind is that, don't ask me why or how, and maybe it was just bad luck all day, this deck...
Metalwalker, how about Oblivion Stone instead of Disk to wipe the entire board, taking opponent's planeswalkers too? After all, they both activate on turn 5, but at least Oblivion seems more reliable...
Because Spell Snare is one of the best counter spells ever made, for landstill the classical choice is 4 Fow, 3-4 Counterspell and 3 Snare. I'd play Pierce instead of Snare only in Combo/Control...
2 Humility and 2 Wrath of God seems overkill. Also Wish toolbox seems narrow. I mean, 2 Negate, 2 Tutors, 3 Path to Exile and 1 Hibernation? That's it? Forbid anyone? Diabolic Edict?
And Post board...
only 2 Wishes? you need to see them often, or is useless to waste 6-7 slots in your sb for cards you'll play rarely. Also tribal has a very fast clock, so if your plan is to wreck them through...
True.
I tested Wish and didn't like it, I mean, sometimes it's broken but other times all it can do is pitching to will, probably I don't like the fact that it eats 8 slots of my sb. Also only...
Cutting Standstills?

Seriously. Standstill is a difficult card to play with. If you find it useless it is...
I've said in the last post that I understand how Ivory is sub par and I couldn't find any CoPs for my sb. What do you think is the correct amount of Tops and Counterbalance in SB? 3 and 3? or 4 and...
I understand the strenght of Countertop in sideboard and in maindeck and there are lots of reasons to run it. But, as every Countertop- based decks player would tell you, you have to build your whole...
In your opinion is possible to effectively run Countertop as a side answer? Without changing the cc ratio of your deck?
Also I was running those Ivory Tower because I couldn't find my CoP: red and...
I suggested Inkmoth a few pages back. Surely it represents a real clock for the opponent if we have an Elspeth on the table. But Metal is right when says that: fails to establish the...
If playing 4 basics against goblins works for you, it's ok. I feel more confortable playing a bigger number of basics.I almost always fetch basics only and stabilize nicely. But probably is only...
Having 4 mana and being able to cast your UU and WW spells is of course good, but seems like you already stabilized your manabase to develop your gameplan properly. That's not the focus of what I'm...
Seems like you never experienced Loam. Loam engine is'nt a very good matchup for landstill and playing too many non basics sure doesn't help it. Also Goblin has 8 lands to mantain mana denial, and...
