You clearly don't have much experience with Vintage (or any other format where those cards are legal). Yes, obviously Dig through Time has a delve cost. It's not hard to delve away fetches, random...
I'm sure an article written back in 2003 or whatever year it was regarding the banlist of legacy is extremely relevant when talking about the format in 2015. Why don't we go back to articles written...
It's not far-fetched at all. All the arguments presented for Brainstorm can be applied to Necropotence as well. I'm not saying that Brainstorm should be banned, but you must be blind if you can't see...
I'm sure people consider winning fun, even if they have to play a deck they don't enjoy. So no, people ARE having fun by winning.
Um, Dig is currently banned in Modern.
I often see this thrown around a lot, so I have got to ask. While I have no doubt that not having a Tabernacle makes your build not optimal, how necessary is that card to the overall strategy? My...
Most of the arguments presented for Brainstorm apply to Necropotence as well. Can we have Necropotence legal in Legacy please? It's a fun and skill-testing card. It fuels different strategies and is...
This prisoner exchange thing they have going on is unbelievably stupid.
This entire discussion just makes me think about how close Natural Selection came to being one of the most expensive cards ever printed. All it needed to do was cantrip.
Bear with me for a moment here.
Necropotence is a very skill testing card. It is a card people love, for the most part. It is a card that will most likely warp the metagame towards a certain...
Honestly all those arguments could conceivably be made for a number of cards sitting on the banned list.
I like this actually. Mind's Desire is busted in half but I have huge doubts whether Desire.dek is actually better than the Delver shell (that sounds crazy to even type..)
As the above poster...
Me being a Vintage player was the reason behind my question. Mishra's Workshop is powerful and broken enough that it serves to keep blue in check. Similarly with Bazaar of Baghdad. Are there any such...
I wonder, are there any seriously powerful non-blue cards that can be unbanned to balance the power of the delver-goodstuff shell if WOTC are unwilling to ban brainstorm? I feel like even if they go...
This was exactly what my post was supposed to say, but you explained it much better.
I'm not under such an impression.
I'm really confused about WOTC thinking about Treasure Cruise. Since when was a conditional draw spell the main problem ever? Yes, it's card advantage, but we have a number of conditional draw spells...
I am NOT saying that Oath would not be a powerful deck here. I play against and with Oath decks every week. In fact, with access to 4 Brainstorm/Ponder it has the potential to be even more consistent...
My god, a single post about the relative power levels of cards and people go fucking berserk. It's also clear to me that many don't actually play Vintage or the cards mentioned in the post at all...
I'm really skeptical about Survival being a problem when we have a legal flying lifelinking Yawgmoth's bargain with legs running around.
If legacy's powerful things are only supposed to be delver or show and derp, sure.
One could argue that a format where everybody plays the same deck could be the most competitive since variance in lowered (deck choice).
I don't suppose anybody would enjoy such a format, however...
