i'm toying with 3 horizon lands(2 silent clearing and 1 nurturing peatland), i've seen other lists that run 4 but personally i feel comfortable with 3 copies..

at first glance sphere of resistance(or thorn of amethyst) might be the best substitute but it really isn't..trinisphere slows down fast decks without slowing down our haymakers/wincons(4-cmc...

i'd take bitterblossom or even waste not over sign in blood or night's whisper if you're looking for a spell that generates card advantage for 2 mana..

i too, still have a singleton baneslayer angel in my sideboard, though sometimes i take her out for a genju of the fields or an Assemble the Legion because i like to change things up from time to...

not that it can't work but i feel legacy is just too fast and hostile to reliably cast approach of the second sun..

fwiw, the cantrip is what really shines on it..

i find that the orb, tower, the 3 diamonds and the 3 scroll racks are ample, cheap artifacts that can be casts early on to support the opal..from my experience, the singleton opal gave me fewer...

cabal therapy is a card that not very many people run in pox...its a good, skill-intensive card and i like it..

though we really need our spot discard to always hit when there is a potential...
