    Dire Wolves

    Stupid question about this card:
    http://ww2.wizards.com/Gatherer/Card....aspx?&id=2554

Mana cost was changed in Oracle. There's no mention of it in the rulings section, which seems odd. Anyone know about this? In general I would follow the Oracle text.

The Oracle is always de jure correct, though the Head Judge can always deviate in unexpected circumstances (and face the consequences afterwards).

What you are looking at though is a misprinted Dire Wolves. If you look at other images or a real one (chances of you having a misprinted one are slim), it does indeed cost 2G.

“It's possible. But it involves... {checks archives} Nature's Revolt, Opalescence, two Unstable Shapeshifters (one of which started as a Doppelganger), a Tide, an animated land, a creature with Fading, a Silver Wyvern, some way to get a creature into play in response to stuff, some way to get a land into play in response to stuff (a different land from the animated land), and one heck of a Rube Goldberg timing diagram.

The Gatherer image, though, has a cost of 3G. I seriously doubt that Wizards would put a misprint as the image for the card.

They do. I don't know why they do, but they do.
