Ancient Wonders or Other Worlds are good choices. Ancient Wonders has better selection, but it's further South for the Washington guys.

I don't think I want to play at Ancient Wonders because the last time I was there I asked to see the standings going into the last round and the owner refused. We should work on the Other Worlds owner to put up a big event.

If someone could organize a large-ish tourney at Other Words (Worlds?) I'd love to go. The store owner is a good guy and it's not terribly far for me.
I still need to make it to EDH Sunday, now that I have my deck built.
Other Worlds can't hold more than about thirty people, and that would be packed very tight. I played in an Extended tournament with about 30some people at Ancient Wonders about eight months ago and it was run pretty efficiently.
I'll probably battle in any event held between Dec 20 and Jan 2. There's a Seattle PTQ on the 19th, but I dunno if that'll affect anything. I'm also not sure how many Seattlites would be willing to drive to Portland, but they play in $25 local tournaments for fairly mediocre prizes, so a $25 for something real might not be out of the question. The 27th would probably get most of the locals, the second would probably get more out of towners is my guess. Not sure how many people would want to travel that close to Christmas, or how many of the children would be able to get permission. Mirkwood ran a 41 man tournament yesterday, but there were three or so cars of Canadians. Probably you would only get one, maybe two cars from Seattle no matter what though.

I haven't played EDH in months. I think it's time to dust off ol' Dromar.
EDIT: Max must be talking about Jan 2, which is a Saturday. Problem with that is that for most shops Saturday is their busiest day. That's why I always organize Legacy tournaments for Sundays.
