Well, on the other hand, check out the prices on anything that is legacy only and not in Modern. Everything is dropping fast. Wastelands, Maze of Ith, Tabernacles, Moats, etc. It seems Modern is the new poster child of high prices.
LOL my buddy was asking if he could borrow my playset of Bridge from Below. I jokingly told him just buy them at $20 a playset before they go up.
He told me they actually went up. They're $20 each now. I LOLed.
Cool, cause Dredge is so good without Dread Return. Oh nevermind, 2/3 of Innastrad is left unspoiled, so the speculators think that Dredge without Dread Return but with unspoiled Card X is going to be better than Dredge with Dread Return.
Decks that I care about:
Steel Stompy
UWx Landstill
Dreadstalker
DDFT (10% practice)
Mangara on MWS? You must be masochistic. -kiblast
The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
1. Discuss the unbanning ofLand TaxEarthcraft.
2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
4. Stifle Standstill.
5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).
I've found that Legacy prices dip slightly in the summer and shot up in the winter. I haven't really noticed a lot of prices dropping, but I haven't been keeping tabs on them except for the few cards I'm still trying to pick up.
Whether the lower prices other people have observed is part of this cyclical trend, or whether it is a manifestation of Modern Gone Wild is uncertain.
With prices as high as they are, I've actually decided to unload the bulk of my "Build books". I'm keeping stuff for dredge (manaless and nonled styles), new horizons, enchantress, and affinity. I'm building Pyromancer Ascension and one other deck to be decided in the near future and unloading everything else while it's super inflated. I really wish there were a good control deck in Modern right now so that I'd be content with that. Not a big aggro fan and I don't like cloudpost.
Whenever I see a kid in a wheelchair it makes me a little sad. Because I always think, "Gee, they could have used those same wheels to make a bike for a regular kid. What a waste."
Well, prices do tend to drop and they especially have lulls when a new set is due out soon. People seem to flock to the pre-orders and fight, but these are overall drops. Like Tabernacle stood out the most. It's over a $75 drop and it's on all of them that have sold in the last month or 2. That's noticeable, though it can be racked up to no one playing decks that use it lately.
Wasteland should never have drops though. It's been steadily going up for a long, long time. This is the first time I started seeing a drop, though SCG did a number on it with that buy price they had.
It's hard to track things with them going crazy up and down so fast anymore.
lol Leveler.
Are you into Jazz? Have a look at the Lp's I have for sale on Discogs!
If you want to bitch about prices, at least tell the source of your price so people can judge by themselves whether you are just plain stupid or if there really is something to it.
Some of my friends sell records,
some of my friends sell drugs.
Lol, if Leveller shoots up because of anti-grindstone guy, people need to start thinking how amazing removal is against this dude when they attempt to draw-and-win and proceed to draw-and-lose instead.

leveller is like 3 euros on MKM since this morning
Leveler? Seriously. Thought Lash is better at least. But really any combo that turns an opponent's creature removal into a win condition for them is worthless.
I was going to pick up a single mutavault thinking it would be around $9-10 and it was $38!
I can see Lab Maniac as being a competitive deck with Thought Lash + Sol-lands (Ancient Tombs, Traitors) and Intuition, however with Leveler/Diving Witch or Paradigm Shift it seems like a bad deck. I assume the price hike of Leveler would be temporary.
Guy I Don't Know, Mutavaults are still $29.99 at Starcity Games.
In other news: foil Green Sun's Zenith jumped from $14.99 to $19.99, not as spectacular as the price jump of foil Through the Breach etc. :(
I still don't get why life from the loam and bridge from below tripled and quadrupled when there has been no new decks in any formats making use of them.
