I'm a little late to the party, but I recently noticed the price jump at SCG on their Lotuses. Alpha lotus went from 10K to 20K since I last checked. I had expected it to go up from what I'd been seeing on Ebay, but I was shocked that they bumped it to 20. Is this realistic or are they just anticipating future increases? I mean are they actually moving at this price for NM?? (They have none in stock in any condition)
Is this increase because of increased popularity in Vintage due to MODO Vintage?
With the 20 year anniversary and upcoming MODO introduction, I had a feeling they would go up. But dang.

Do the wives need to know about each other?
I asked a friend of mine who is good at tracking down cards to see what he can find. I am getting 8 of the 9 (No Twister) and 4 Shops for just under 12 grand. Not a bad grab. I had been wanting to do it all slowly and make it feel like I earned it all myself but if the prices are going to shoot, I just went "Fuck it, I am getting a loan".
I'm with you, I went into debt (sort of, I can totally pay for it) to upgrade my UL jewels to Beta at EW via a friend at a cost of $10,600 (which was funded by selling UL, a stack of duals and $3.5K of my own money). He popped them in the post to me and by the time they came out at the other end they had nearly doubled in value. Man oh man am I happy that I paid that $100 in interest to land that deal then.
11 months ago I bought an Alpha Black Lotus from the owner of a local card store that I've been going to since I started playing magic in 1994. It wasn't a cheap purchase. It's in great condition. That's the most I've paid for a magic card by a long shot, but looking back it was a great decision. That card has at least doubled, if not tripled in value. Oh, and as a joke when I bought the card he threw in a pack of Theros. I pulled a Thoughtseize in the Theros pack. Lol.
Yeah, third row is a definite need, the 4 kids are usually trying to sit on, lay on, kick/punch/murder each other in the back seat of our car right now. I guess that's normal if you have 4 boys? I have no idea, I had only one sister. Right now, on paper, we are looking at a used Honda Pilot, but we need to actually go test drive one to know if we like it.
Chances are good if they are in the same vehicle, they know about each other.
Man, in 2010, I bought 8/9 (No Jet, it was Beta and I didn't want to go that road, how stupid of me) plus 2 Bazaars and a Workshop for $3,000. Even though that wasn't an amazing deal at the time, it sure has payed off now. Plus it's a good thing, there is no way in the world I could afford power at it's current price. Hell, I am having a difficult time even trying to get some FBB duals...

I would call that Excellent +, or Slightly Played. Value? I don't really know, over $6,000 minimum, I'd guess.
Oh, no, no, I am far too old for that many! This pregnancy has been kind of rough on my wife, I'm sure the next will be tougher, so I think we both realize we can only do this once more after this. I think 6 kids will be enough, right? They can even play casual 2-Headed Giant games!

6 kids will be enough? :)
Got only an 8 years old daughter, and i guess i'm going to get another one just for the sake of her not being alone in life when my life and I will leave this world.
If that wasn't for that reason alone, I would stop there as taking care of childs is just exhausting :) (An i'm not Not saying that there are no good things in having childs).
I made a new thread, I think we've derailed this one enough.

With the exception of dual lands it seems as though the reserve list is not hindering new players from joining the legacy format. This is comforting because if new players feel like they can at least compete they are likely to at least try it and thus the legacy community will grow.
Maybe dual lands don't need to be reprinted for legacy to grow?

Maybe good fakes will save/doom LEgacy.
Choose as you like. But really, this will be a factor sooner or later.
you would be incorrect, there seems to be a somewhat positive trend. look for yourself.
