I'm not a fan of the tendency to "de-player" the arts of Invitational Winner cards. Seems like kind of a snub to the folks who designed them and the community at large. It's nice to have some of the game's history displayed on the cards themselves.

Can't say I'm particularly enthused about the RPTQ promos either. When I first saw Liliana of the Veil advertised as a "PTQ Promo" a while ago, I was unaware of the change to the PTQ system and actually considered attending local ones. Yeah, pissing away time and money to play formats I don't particularly love (Standard, Sealed, and, at the time, Modern) and stand little chance of winning was a bad deal before, but hey, here's a free $70 bill. And it seemed like a great way to get expensive staple cards into the hands of the community while driving tourney attendance.

Then I found out the changes to the PTQ system and how only people who won a PPTQ, and scored an invite to a Regional Qualifier, received one. Totally killed my enthusiasm to play in (P)PTQs and left me with a bit of a sour taste in my mouth; moneyed players, with the staples to build strong decks, are going to be the primary recipients of these promos, compounding the rich-get-richer feeling of competitive Magic.

Man, I wish they'd bring back Player Rewards promos in force.

no, it is TERRIBLE. all this new digital art isn't really "art" imo, and it all looks shitty. This card in particular tho has an extra dose of completely worthless.

I have 12+ playsets of regular Snapcasters and 5 playsets of foil Snapcasters sitting in binders.. All acquired more than 2 years ago. I mean, everyone knew he was going to be a staple in every format going forward. How could you not see that?

Right now, I have been buying up every single Khans fetchland I can find, and every single Theros Thoughtseize, and every single Dig Through Time. 2+ years from now these things will either maintain or increase in value. Also, Collected Company is a very good card to buy if you see them around. Barring a future ban, there is no way CC loses value going forward.

So Dig Through Time was banned, and CoCo is just sitting at ~8 but maintaining its value... but I warned you guys about those Khans fetchlands.

As obvious as it seemed, people still didn't buy up every one they could find when they were $10-15 (when I posted this message).

From here on out, welcome to $25+ land, and probably $35+ land for the blue ones pretty soon.

No idea, but I need the Ports for Lands. I do not know if I want them or Foil Masks Ports though. Would take me months to save up for the Masks foils so I want to see the new ones in person before I make that jump.
