    Artifact Mana Sources

I have been debating if there are alternatives to Mox Diamond and Chrome Mox that does not require sacrificing a card from your hand.

Would Lotus Petal be enough. It sucks that its a one time use?

Would Borderposts would be a good alternative?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!
I am convinced that WotC is "dumbing" the game because of all the stupid posts they come across on MTG-related forums

Borderposts are a tempoloss when countered/destroyed and Petals are miserable topdecks. like, worst topdecks I can think of. As long as you're not talking about Combo, I assume.

Mox Diamond + Life from the Loam is acceptable acceleration that does not give up too much card advantage. Sensei's Divining Top, by finding you land on a regular basis when you need it, almost qualifies as artifact mana, although you give up tempo instead of gaining it in the short run unless you are a draw-go type deck. I'm not sure there are other artifacts that qualify as good mana providers at this point for Legacy. Chrome Mox works in a few themes but it is really resource greedy, as is Mox Diamond in the absence of Life from the Loam. Lion's Eye Diamond works in a few themes but it is not generally hospitable to most decks. Lotus Petal just doesn't give enough return for the investment except as part of a chain for storm where it both generates mana and gives storm count.
