Pridemage is powerful. Not feared. It is the same way that FoW, Daze, and Swords are powerful, but not feared. Ad Nauseum, Ill-Gotten Gains, Empty the Warrens; these cards are feared, and when they are played, they beg to be answered or they will cause a win. Pridemage is an excellent creature with a low mana cost relative to his abilities. He does not, however, qualify as a scary guy. Compare the average Legacy players reactions to most creatures on these lists (Progenitus, Iona, Dreadnought, etc.) with their reaction to Pridemage. The latter might be "Damn, a pridemage." It will not be on par with "....well, that's gg" or a capslockon cuss.

Combo players fear force. Namely Belcher and SI players. FoW is actually the only card I'm legitimately afraid of besides Trinisphere. It is the same way that FoW, Daze, and Swords are powerful, but not feared.
Hmm good question...
1 Goblin Lackey
2 Lord of Atlantis
3 Tarmogoyf
4 Iona, shield of emeria
5 Progenitus
6 Tombstalker
7 Vendilion Clique
8 Rhox War Monk
9 Qasali Pridemage
10 xantid swarm
Dark Confidant
Any of the discard outlets for dredge could easily be throw in there and nimble mongoose for honorable mention.
Lol. I never realized that people could be afraid of Xantid Swarm. I guess that makes sense. It just looks so harmless on its own. 0/1 Flying Insect.
It's more the effect kind of like clique and bob
I dont like to see Golgary grave troll, guys dont forget this monster and wild nacatl in turn 1 may be -9 or 12- points of life
Progenitus, Inkwell, Iona, Lackey, Emrakul.
I love the fact that Lackey is among huge unanswerable creatures because he's just that annoying.
Wizards should do a functional reprint of Lackey!
Edit: And make it mythic!
Edit2: Or give it haste!
For me :
1 Goblin Lackey
2 Progenitus
3 Iona, Shield of Emeria
4 Dark Confidant
5 Tombstalker
6 Tarmogoyf
7 Lord of Atlantis
8 Mother of Runes
9 Goblin Ringleader
10 Trygon Predator
10 Magus of the Moon
Also it is interesting that this list changes alot if it is an Aggro or more controlish player and what he is playing at the moment.
Super Bizarros Team.
HUEHUEHUE BRBRBR. VIVA DILMA!!! EM NOME DE JESUS CRISTO!
These are the creatures I find the most terrific (in no special order):
1. Iona, Shield of Emeria.
2. Magus of the Moon.
3. Marit Lage
4. Narcomoeba
5. Goblin Lackey
6. Progenitus
7. Tarmogoyf
8. Kavu Predator
9. Xantid Swarm
10. Inkwell Leviathan
Most creatures just make me groan. Lacky, Goyf, Canonist, and Tombstalker fall into this catagory. Tombstalker is borderline since I build my decks without taking him into consideration a lot on accident. Ie. Playing Smother, Snuff out, Threads, and such.
Ones that all out make me go "oh shit" are.
Progenitis
Iona
Tireless Tribe (I still remember the About Face decks and I hate seeing him out of Dredge also)
Dragon Tyrant - Been hit by this guy for more than 20 a number of times. Stupid Blazing Shoal crap.
Slith Firewalker - I just start imagining the huge amount of burn about to be tossed at me.
Top of the list.
Stupid Creatures I have to read the card on, like Mogg Maniac. You know a stupid combo is going to roll out on you and completely embarrass you. Because you know you will feel bad when someone beats the crap out of you with a deck filled with white bordered lands and creatures you haven't seen since the last time you dug through a commons box.
Example:
I was playing G/W Survival and was totally trashed by a druid deck. Yeah Druids. He spammed out so many by the third turn, there was no coming back. He hit me with a third turn Gilt Leaf Archdruid. I had to read the card and he reached over and slid my lands to his side of the table. How humiliating.
Tarmogoyf is not scary. Here is the top 10:
1. Inkwell Leviathan
2. Iona
3-4. Weathered wayfarer and Mom tie
5. Fathom seer
6. Tombstalker
7. Phyrexian Dreadnought
8. Stoneforge mystic
9. Knight of the Reliquary
10. Painter's Servant
The debatable slots, which are 8 and 9, are quite justified. People who play SFM smartly always get jitte, or at the very worse at least SOLS. But people holding countermagic can't even wait for the tempo boost because of SFM's ability, so it's essentially a 2 mana must counter, unless you're able to deal with the equipment actually being in play with a creature to equip. Even weathered wayfarer and mom are not 1 mana must counters, because you get one turn to remove them. Dark confidant usually gets a FOW, and always gets dazed, but it's not a disaster if it comes down. SFM is a disaster if it resolves for many decks.
KOTR is also quite scary. If you don't remove it for a turn, then your opponent gets to use his toolbox ability. It's really only scary coming from stax, though, since zoo doesn't have much of a scary toolbox. It's possible that 9 and 10 can be switched.
1. Progenitus
2. Iona
3. Cursecatcher
4. Lackey
5. Nacatl
6. Dark Confidant
7. Tombstalker
8. Tarmo
9. Spellstutter Sprite
10. Flame-Kin Zealot
Each of these lists should be deck-specific. If you're playing combo you don't care about Goyf but really don't want to see Gaddock Teeg, etc.
1.) Gaddeck Teeg
2.) Ethersworn Cannonist
3.) ....?
