I have noticed the amount of people who know nothing about this games rules are extremely high on MWS (Example: people trying to sac 1 Ornithopter 3 times to a Thopter Foundry). Do people really try to play decks on MWS without knowing anything about the basics?
MWS is an idiot filter.
It's possible. But it involves... {checks archives} Nature's Revolt, Opalescence, two Unstable Shapeshifters (one of which started as a Doppelganger), a Tide, an animated land, a creature with Fading, a Silver Wyvern, some way to get a creature into play in response to stuff, some way to get a land into play in response to stuff (a different land from the animated land), and one heck of a Rube Goldberg timing diagram.

Yes? Playing computer games is more fun than reading a rulebook. About half of the people I play on MWS don't know at least some basic rules interactions and a good solid supermajority don't understand complex ones. It's not great testing (in fact, it's usually crappy testing) but at least it's something. Occasionally you get a good match thrown your way, too. That's always nice.
Great success!
Welcome to MWS - the place where people love to make up their own rules (that always seem to favor themselves) and put 50 NOOB tokens into play when you tell them they're wrong.
Seriously - why bother? Are the frustrating games against people who clearly don't care to learn the rules worth your time?
I only MWG for mtgsal or source tourneys, or against people I know IRL. I don't have time to dick around with people who don't know the rules.
Magic-League.com has free, structured tournaments daily, as well as player ratings and judges. Most players there use mws to play. There are still some people who have no idea what they're doing, but there are also a lot of very good players. PV plays there from time to time, for example.
NO! No Idiot-lock! Never!
Competing with morons is what I like about MWS the most...

The amount of strangeness and stupidity online is astounding. I've had people ragequit for astoundingly stupid reasons. I had someone quit because I played Xiahou Dun as my general in an EDH game. Their reason "Horsemanship is gay."
That's not getting started on the stupid rules interpretations and horrible attitudes.
Another fun encounter.
Apparently Nevinnyral's Disk beats indestructible because it's a global effect. You heard it first here folks.
it is really frustrating when my opponent tries to regenerate his creature after i wog
Play MTGO, but then you still run into this:

Stifle your (untapped) Noble Hierarch during Upkeep!
Most of the misinterpretation are at least comprehensible (like, we all remember tapping our Bird for BURWG Turn 1) but this one was just...
Ya, I tell myself to de-install MWS every day but Itīs still funny to test some piles. If a Deck doesnīt get ~70-80% wins on MWS itīs probably not worth playing ;)
Well, that's not true. You can actually find sensible players on there. Some even play good decks.
Indeed, but its still great when the players listed as "serious decktesting" ragequit halfway through game 1.
The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
1. Discuss the unbanning ofLand TaxEarthcraft.
2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
4. Stifle Standstill.
5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).
