Taxing Effect:
The way I would define it is simply you'll have to pay on what you're about to do or doing. A good example would be [cards]Ghostly Prison[cards].
I am trying to make a mono-white casual deck. Unfortunately, I am at work; not to mention that my knowledge with cards isnt as broad. Outside Ghostly Prison, what are some good taxing cards?
Thanks in advance!
Staying mono white, these are the first that come to mind:
- Magus of the tabernacle
- Kataki, War's Wage
- Windborn Muse
- Spelltithe Enforcer
- Brainwash
Not much, really.

Suppression Field
Whenever I see a kid in a wheelchair it makes me a little sad. Because I always think, "Gee, they could have used those same wheels to make a bike for a regular kid. What a waste."
Suppression field has great synergy with other such effects since it helps to turn off fetchlands.

There's a friend of mine who plays something like that. His deck is chock full of taxing effects like Glowrider, Suppression field, Cursed Totem, and a bunch of creatures that don't die unless you pay something. Like Glittering Lion and lynx, Knight of the holy nimbus, and stuff like that. It's truly annoying, but actually quite fun to play against.
