Thread: Ertai, the Corrupted

    Ertai, the Corrupted

This is meant to be a more competitive deck for me, built with the following in mind:

    1) Kill ramp decks dead.
    2) Not die to token decks.
    3) Be relatively resilient to decks with recursion.

So, here's my solution: Ertai, the Corrupted Stax.

    General: Ertai, the Corrupted

    Wurmcoil Engine
    Sphinx of the Steel Wind
    Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
    Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre

    Elspeth, Knight-Errant
    Venser, the Sojourner
    Jace Beleren
    Tezzeret the Seeker
    Liliana Vess

    Consecrated Sphinx
    Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur
    Sensei's Divining Top
    Necropotence
    Phyrexian Arena
    Fact or Fiction
    Recurring Insight

    Enlightened Tutor
    Vampiric Tutor
    Demonic Tutor
    Fabricate

    Duplicant
    Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
    Angel of Despair
    Sheoldred, Whispering One
    Oblivion Stone
    Contagion Engine

    Desolation Angel
    Armageddon
    Mishra's Helix
    Catastrophe

    Phyrexian Metamorph
    Mind Twist
    Mind Shatter
    Crucible of Worlds
    Sculpting Steel
    Storage Matrix
    Tangle Wire
    Smokestack
    Debtor's Knell

    Mana Drain
    Hinder
    Cryptic Command

    Myr Battlesphere
    Thopter Foundry
    Sword of the Meek
    Bitterblossom
    Mobilization
    Decree of Justice

    Solemn Simulacrum
    Everflowing Chalice
    Mana Crypt
    Mox Diamond
    Expedition Map
    Mana Vault
    Sol Ring
    Azorius Signet
    Dimir Signet
    Orzhov Signet
    Talisman of Progress
    Talisman of Dominance
    Coalition Relic
    Darksteel Ingot
    Gilded Lotus
    Dreamstone Hedron

    2 Plains
    2 Island
    2 Swamp
    3 Duals
    3 Shocklands
    Flooded Strand
    Flood Plain
    Polluted Delta
    Bad River
    Marsh Flats
    Azorius Chancery
    Dimir Aqueduct
    Orzhov Basilica
    Calciform Pools
    Dreadship Reef
    Celestial Colonade
    Creeping Tar Pit
    Arcane Sanctum
    Kjeldoran Outpost
    Minamo, School at Water's Edge
    Tolaria West
    Bojuka Bog
    Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
    Academy Ruins
    Ancient Tomb
    Dust Bowl
    Strip Mine
    Vesuva
    Volrath's Stronghold
    Wasteland

I do not have (as in, I do not own): Ravages of War, Imperial Seal, planeswalker Karn, or Grim Tutor.

Basically, this deck just accelerates into bombs and then Armageddons or otherwise locks down the board. Ertai stops the worst spells from resolving.

    Re: Ertai, the Corrupted

I play Zur too, and IMO you should think about running more token generators. I dislike mobilization, seems a little slow. I play Grave Titan as well and where is SKULL CLAMP! I also play lots of l33t creatures like Mulldrifter, Shriekmaw, Venser Shaper Savant etc that sac to Ertai once they've done they're duty. I also play Mishra's factory, Mutavault and inkmoth nexus because they feed ertai and are a great lock with Crucible. Cheers!
