It's bad Merfolk matchup is usually pretty overstated, depending on what you board. If you turn your Missteps into 2 more removal spells and 2 utility and run 4-6 more spot removal in the board, you basically have to get screwed by your threat density to lose games 2/3.
I think the biggest thing is the deep seeded emotional understanding that the right play is the right play regardless of outcomes. The ability to make a decision 5 straight times, lose 5 times because of it, and still make it the 6th time if it's the right play. - Jon Finkel
