[EDH] Doran, the Siege Tower and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind

Hey, I haven't posted any EDH stuff here in a while. I've gotten back into it playing with my friends. I've played a lot of semi-competitive EDH for a while, but now I've sort of settled on my two generals. Luckily for me they've both been printed as champs promos. Any advice on improving these decks would be very appreciated. They function relatively well against a competitive field and still remain fun (with the exception of Niv-Mizzet) in a more casual field. Doran is tuned towards multiplayer, and Niv-Mizzet is meant for 1v1.

It doesn't look like you run any creatures that get pumped by Doran. Why not try a different general in the same colors like Teneb or Ghave either of which could generate a little card advantage for you.

Yeah, I guess the reason I play Doran is because I'm stubborn and enjoy playing the full art copy I have. Also, Doran does provide card advantage because you can play him early and force an opponent to deal with him. He discourages attacks in the early stages of the game which saves life, which has a marginal amount of utility. He isn't as obviously powerful as other options that share his colors but I like him. You're right though, he only hurts my creatures when he's in play pretty much haha. I never was really interested in building a deck where his ability could be used as an asset. It always felt like doing so would force me to play weaker cards. If I didn't have any attachment to Doran, I'd probably change it to Teneb.
