A few of us from will be flying in from Atlanta. Any chance anyone will play taxi cab/host for the weekend.
Ugh, flights look like they're murder since it's right around the holidays. Regularly $200, now $500. Fuck my life. 2400km roadtrip that would be 24+ hours of solid driving versus the flight cost? $70 per tank, 450km per tank (abouts, but probs better since it's all highway), so say, to be conservative, 6 tanks of gas = $420. Might as well fly :/

At worst if staying at the Crowne Plaza there's a free airport shuttle; there's also a bunch more hotels 2-3 mi down 40th all with airport shuttles, which some may consider "walking distance".
There'll probably be someone with a car in the hotel row willing to bus people back and forth to the venue too, I'm sure.
Yeah, that's another thing that's screwed up about this event.

So we're fairly certain this will be at the Denver convention center?
I'd hate to book a hotel nearby only to find it's somewhere else...
Hooray for enough rewards points on Southwest to fly for free!

If it's at the Crowne Plaza, I would wait to book. They will almost certainly offer a discounted room rate, and it's not a bad hotel. If not, there are a dozen hotels right down the street. A cursory search on hotels.com is showing rooms for $60+/night.

Jetblue is looking like $260 plus taxes/fees for round trip from Boston, flying in friday morning and leaving sunday night (landing in boston monday morning, time change etc.)
I'm graduating in january so as long as it doesn't fall on the same weekend as my grad ceremony, I'm in there. Booking my flight now.

Well, there's the option of going:
Hyatt Downtown
Hyatt Uptown
Hyatt Marquis
etc
Crowne Plaza?
Two addresses.
Another day, another reinforcement that Business people are actually retarded.
EDIT: I'm salty because I woke up to a parking ticket. In front of my house. On a public parking street. >:-[

I usually see it referred to as "Crowne Plaza Denver Airport" if that makes you feel any better.

Not the Denver Convention Center, the Crowne Plaza "convention center". I think the Crowne refers to it as the "airport convention center" or something - it's attached to the hotel, it's not all that big.
It's on East 40th, about 10 miles from DIA and otherwise pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

You know, you'd think WoTC would be able to put this on the GP website...
