I saw the Black Market Standard decklist and I am contemplating whether you can actually build a full-on Black-based Stax deck in Modern using Trading Post as a engine.
I was also looking at: Descent into Madness

The deck in modern wants tezzeret to shut off death rite shaman. (by grabbing pitching needle). It also wants lingering souls and supreme verdict, do it'd have to be esper. Then you get to the fact that academy ruins does the same thing trading post is primarily used for. So, it would work, but not as mono black. At a minimum it wants 3 colours, and probably esper. I would know, I've been building it for a few weeks
Too bad you can't use Thopter Sword :( Would be a great combo. And I dont think Post really cares about Shaman as he doesnt exile Artifacts at all.
he does however exile creatures (wurmcoil)
