    Blue Fetches.

SCG and TCG has doubled the price of their Scalding Tarns and Misty Rainforests. 35 bucks. Anyone got any info on why?

You think the price will sustain after the season?

As long as they are not reprinted, yes.

It's a good idea to get them in foils now before their prices catch up.

Delver, Storm, and UW midrange decks, also they're blue.

Hm, is this a valid point? In the "Modern Banned List" thread you can read, Jund would dominate the metagame. I would assume Verdant Catacombs would be the winner fetchland, price-wise.
However, I don't really follow the metagame development, so I might be wrong.

This, they are a Legacy staple as much as a Modern staple, despite having a higher supply, being a staple in two formats the price jump was inevitable

Also many Modern decks use these fetches as well, I was quite surprised it took this long to reach that high of a price tbh

Ben and Co. bought out every vendor on the lower half of TCG's price list. That's why the spike. The prices will drop a bit as long as it was a one-time deal by SCG, but they have enormous influence over the market.

I have seen places where you can still find tarns for 25. So they have come back down a tad but still.

I'm glad I got my playsets when they were still less than 20 a pop. Everyone loves blue regardless of the format.

I wish I had been a bit more proactive. I picked up Tarns and 2 Mistys when they were cheap and now need 2 more Mistys for modern.

I still don't understand why they spiked recently. The shocklands have been legal since Modern's inception, Modern Masters isn't out yet, and I haven't seen a large rise in RUG decks in any format.

    Re: Blue Fetches.

I'm trying now to get all missing blue fetchlands. Thankfully it may be a matter of 2 weeks and cost less than I think. I had some new ones but I haven't imagined that someone will push the prize so high. I think that from now on I would rather buy cards few weeks/months after prerelease than after someone's prize push even if I think "that can't happen (again)".
