Lingering Souls

Hi guys.

can anyone more exoerienced than I in the modern card pool list a set of solutions against the increasing number of lingering souls in the metagame. It will be nice if someone can post different solutions for different kind of decks. for instance pyroclasm is kinda nice but a weenie aggro deck can' t afford it. Plus if possible it will be better if the solutions are also useful once Souls is resolved, for instance surgical extraction or, in minor way, deathrite shaman are good but they can't deal with the wave of tokens attacking/blocking you.

Pyroclasm/Firespout (can just snag flyers if you choose correct mana)
Surgical Extraction/Extirpate/Relic of Progenitus/Nihil Spellbomb
Deathrite Shaman
Thundermaw Hellkite
Sulfur Elemental
Maelstrom Pulse
Supreme Verdict/Day of Judgment/Wrath of God/Damnation
Curse of Death's Hold
Darkblast
etc.

You can also play a deck that just doesn't care about Lingering Souls, like Storm, Splinter Twin, or any unfair deck that isn't trying to grind out games in the red zone. If you're trying to play a deck with your own creatures and tempo the opponent out 3-4 Sulfur Elemental will likely be your best bet.

Thank you Jaco this is precisely what I was looking for! The idea of sulfur elemental is really appealing, just didn't thought about it.

Engineered Explosives -- dodges DRS removal, also useful in removing DRS.
Setup recursion with Academy Ruins and go to town on Jund/aggro.

There's probably more I can think of if you tell me what shell and colors you're considering (aggro/control/combo/etc).
