The product was just announced on Pro Tour Gatecrash by Hill and Sutcliffe, and it was made to celebrate the twenty years of MtG.
Known facts:
- This product is packed with 20 cards instead of the traditional 15 cards from previous From the Vaults;
- The product is also going to feature a card from a winning deck from each year of Magic existence.
Release date: August 23, 2013
MSRP: $39,99
Product concept and develop team: Gavin Verhey and Jeremy Jarvis
Twitter Hashtag: #ftv20
All info taken from mtgsalvation, but it seems to be spreading (info wise) like wildfire -- 20 cards a pop, people claiming MoR to be confirmed.
Wonder how bad they can make this one...
Mother of Runes? Now that's...unexciting. Mouth of Ronom anyone?
The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
1. Discuss the unbanning ofLand TaxEarthcraft.
2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
4. Stifle Standstill.
5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).
They are saying mom because of the art spoiled. Does not look like mom tomme at all.
That's pretty vague. Winning what? Worlds? Pro Tours?- The product is also going to feature a card from a winning deck from each year of Magic existence.
They could print 19 horrible cards and jam in a Jace, the Mind Sculptor and it would still sell like hotcakes.

Just picked the MVP's Out of every years Deck which may Need a Reprint for the pricetag or because they Never saw a Promo
Edit: sure WotC can mess up the term with the championship and just Reprint 20 icons Out of 20 years that were in Decks that won a pro Tour, gp, worlds etc. and come up with Lots of crap. Pick your own: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic...ship#section_5

They could make it pretty good if they choose cards that are still playable today. At least by definition it's a product with tournament-quality cards. However, in June Modern Masters is coming out, and I expect this is where the Modern-era money cards will be.
By the way, it's another case of stuff getting reprinted in a short-run all-foil product. I wish they would take the hint from the success of RtR and reprint more cards in widely available sets, and not just as foils.
Not to mention, Brainstorm, StP, Dark Ritual, Disenchant, Incinerate, Duress, Psychatog, Counterspell, Eternal Witness, and Cryptic Command all have promos of various stripes: FNM, Arena, textless foil, and so on.
Mutavault also has a promo but those are extremely rare, so I could see them doing that again.
However, the most recent cards complicate things because I imagine they'll want to avoid overlap with Modern Masters.
Also, I agree that the spoiled art does not look very Mother of Runes-y.
Doesn't necessarily have to be worlds i assume, but PTs are fair to assume. If so; Wasteland, Force of Will, Rishadan Port. Oh god yes!
Still going to suck though, cause they are not going to print something actually good.

Outdated? That didn't hinder Wizards to put Desert into FTV: Realms.
I expect one money card, some okay value cards and the rest to be janky, "iconic" cards.
Force and at least one other good card probably pays for the rest of the stuff they put in there. It would also give people the promo Force of Will they've been whining about wanting for years.
My assumption is they'll aim for iconic decks rather than limiting it to just World Champs decks. We could see stuff like Fires of Yavimaya, Circular Logic, Piledriver, Lin Sivvi, something from Pros Bloom, and so on. Force, Port, and Wasteland all represent money cards they could print that would make the set worth it, never mind the stuff in Modern with currently ridiculous price tags (Thoughtseize, I'm looking at you).
Desert was in FtV: Lands despite already having an FNM promo and being essentially a worthless card, so there is a small possibility they'd reprint a card in both Modern Masters and FtV: 20. It probably won't be something as splashy as Tarmogoyf, but who knows. This FtV can't be any worse than the Legends one.
dark ritual foil textless plz
and 10 duals, and fow, and wasteland
The picture that was spoiled looked like it could be Psionic Blast to me.
If it was really a Mom, the blue energy balls in her hand would be the 5 colors of magic.
No idea what the card could be. Looks rather blue, though. Mystical Tutor, maybe?
She looks like Umbra Mystic to me, though I don't know which winning deck that came from.
The Source: Your Source for "The Source: Your Source for..." cliche.

I'd say there's a strong chance it's Mystical Tutor based on the blue color motifs (including the skull in bookcase = knowledge archetype), but since it's been printed in a FTV set already, I'm kind of stumped. Maybe Vampiric? Brainstorm?
