You mentioned in this and another post looking for a good card to use with Omni, would Careful Consideration be a decent choice? In matchups like control where you'd board out LDV/Intuition, it's a card that lets you dig and go up a card when cantrip chaining with Omni, it's also an instant speed discard for using Emrakul to dodge Surgical and a decent value card on a hardcast when you've exchanged a lot of discard/counters.
It is playable. In 2013 I considered it as the best choice for a draw spell, better than fact or fiction. That said with skeletal scrying already available its value as a wish target becomes much much lower, and as a sb card that replaces LDV/Intuition vs Surgical I am not sure it beats Jace TMS. I already tried Jace and notion thief but 4 mana is a lot without sol lands and rebs are there. That said I didn't test them enough to advise against testing them so feel free to try.
I also didn't test cheaper draw spells in the sb much, like Night's Whispers or Jace, Vryn's Prodigy. I would test NW first as Jace turns on a lot of cards (people keep often stps/decay/edict and sb in rebs).

You very likely can build it without spending any money, just out of what you already have.
An example with my (very large) list in a visual form
Besides losing to Surgical Extraction, UB (3 Thought seize/3 LDV) has been going good.
Just curious is anyone playing UR or Grixis Omni?
I'm interested in your list. And results against Surgical Extraction.
Also. Did some digging, could there be any value in the Lab Man/ETI/Halls version in today's meta?

It's been some time so - any news / changes / techs / splash?
Mr Lejay?

Major threat? Opinions?
:)
This doesn't affect our free Emrakul. It might push for 3 Emrakul vs 2 so you have one in hand more frequently.
BZK! - Storm Boards
Been there, tried that, still casting Doomsday.
Drawing my deck for 0 mana since 2013.
I didn't play since about my last post. I came here hoping someone would have posted something interesting for Ub or at the very least another version. Would be nice if others were sharing too.
I'll probably play again in january.
Emrakul#3 was already pretty close so Emidln is probably right.

UB omnitell with a similar list just came first in the MTGO challenge. Here's the link:
https://magic.wizards.com/en/article...nge-2018-12-31
Ran this cheeky list to a 2-2 result at a local 4 rounder back in November.
First time on the deck just trying things out. Made at least one severe misplay vs BR Reanimator with MBT which may or may not have affected the match.
Many of the cards I was just messing around to see what "felt right" and I have no real justification for the G splash test :)

I played a few leagues to help me solve the last questions I had on the build that were left unanswereded during my large pause.
Thought erasure has good upsides, but in the end I think I prefer to have the 4th thoughtseize as mana cost has a lot of weight. That said it's very close and is a perfectly fine budget/replacement choice if you don't have 4th seize or 2nd IoK. I don't think I want a 7th discard in the sideboard but that might change one day.
I still think Bitterblossom sb is the best alternative route to victory, better than gurmag, reanimate, clique or wishable rain of filth. That said I still prefer to play without this / these slot(s).
The 15th sb slot is probably 2nd spell pierce. Same reasoning as before, control match-up won't change a lot with 1-2 slots dedicated, but with them you can have a decent impact vs combo decks, and pierce happens to be good vs hymn and other discards. Countering Jace and sneak attack also feel important and I welcome the additionnal help vs turn 2 chalice/trini/choke etc.... I know a split 1 spell pierce / 1 other counter would improve wishes game1, but it seems like a marginal consideration compared to other ones, especially with fow available as a wish target in game ones and some post sb matches.
I wished echoing decay only once in 4 leagues, which is less that I used to do. So I played the last league with a massacre instead. Didn't use it but will continue to play with it for some time. This leaves me with no removal for teeg and thus I am almost cold to teeg + Oblivion ring or Knight of Autumn, but this kind of event feels quite unlikely given how much the deck controls the opponent's hand with discard. Teeg + large board could be problematic but I haven't faced the situation in a while.
The one thing I admit I never tested is to compare its results with sneak show. If someone played both extensively, or if a sneak show player would take the time to test the deck it would be quite valuable to have his input.

I know I'm about to make an offtopic here but I just have to.... Does any of fellow omnitell players have been thinking about playing hive mind or could share some lists in private? I think that with cards like Spellseeker and Mr Lejays UB shell (strixes, LDVs, 5-6 discard spells) it looks very interesting <sorry for an offtop> <sorry for an offtop>
Thx in advance :)
I don't think that's off topic.
But the problem is that hive mind takes slots (+pacts+grim monolith) so it's hard to mix both.

I've been thinking about something like this (unfortunately it wasn't tested yet)
4 Hive Mind
4 Show and Tell
3 Summoner's Pact
4 Pact of the Titan
2 Pact of Negation
3 Thoughtseize
4 Brainstorm
2 Underground Sea
2 Swamp
3 Island
4 Polluted Delta
3 Lim-Dul's Vault
2 Marsh Flats
2 Force of Will
4 Ponder
2 Flooded Strand
1 Misty Rainforest
3 Baleful Strix
2 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Ancient Tomb
3 Spellseeker or Dark Ritual or Cunning Wish (then SB varies)
SB: 2 Massacre
SB: 2 Force of Will
SB: 3 Surgical Extraction
SB: 2 Misdirection
SB: 6 spots to fill (if wish then maybe some pacts + 3 omniscience + the eladamri's call + emrakul)
I really like the idea of Hive Mind as an independent strategy on its own but maybe it's worth to try to mix them
Plus the ub shell from omnitell is very good
Dunno maybe it's just a trash idea but I really wish hive mind would work somehow...
If you want to talk about Hive Mind without omniscience, in this case yes it's off topic. You can probably find a thread on Hive Mind. I think the deck will be slightly inferior, in Omni the uncastable cards can all be show and telled. Here there are a lot of do nothing cards (though lists splashing red for pact of the titan have been successful and slaughter pact is better without deathrite shaman in the format). Your list doesn't even have preordains and has less disruption so I am suspicious. I don't see spellseeker being good at all. Same for wish, in omni they are there because they are kill spells that can be used for other things. The advantage of Hive Mind is being able to hardcast Hive Mind, so you have to play Grim Monolith rather than rituals.
I don't see an incentive to mix both. It can help vs surgical but that's all. And both strategies demand too many slots to be a sb annex.

With whole playset of preordains wouldn't it be too much of a cantrips? Cantrip into cantrip is bad in this deck imho.
Anyways it's an offtop so let's just cut it out. I'm gonna toy with this idea for some time :)
On the other hand are we really considering 3rd Emrakul now?
Not more, not less than before I'd say. It's still an option.

I now have played a bunch of legacy leagues and I have to say the deck seems only ok. I have done a whole lot of 3-2s without much variance (rare 4-1s and just slightly rarer 3 defeats).
My guess would be that people are more prepared for it and my past results were capitalizing on people being lost facing the deck. The metagame also feels tougher. I seem to face discard a lot, not so many combo decks. Lands and 4c loam were easy match-ups and they seem to have almost completely and completely disappeared.
It could also be me doing something wrong with my card choices and I don't realize.
So only play it if it seems justified by your metagame I'd say.
My final sideboard is :
SB: 3 Surgical Extraction
SB: 1 Skeletal Scrying
SB: 1 Release the Ants
SB: 1 Noxious Revival
SB: 1 Force of Will
SB: 1 Firemind's Foresight
SB: 1 Spell Pierce
SB: 1 Eladamri's Call
SB: 1 Murderous Cut
SB: 1 Cryptic Command
SB: 1 Dimir Charm
SB: 1 Baleful Strix
SB: 1 Echoing Decay
Multiple removals seem safer vs Thalia decks. Dimir Charm is only slightly inferior to 2nd pierce. Echoing Decay is still the most useful wish option among unsure slots. 2nd pierce instead of 3rd surgical is still a possiblity, so consider that if your meta has not many grave decks, and in this case Dimir Charm can become something else.
Baleful strix is the most questionable slot as it's not wishable and I don't side it in that much, but I don't see another good option vs delver that is good enough elsewhere. Reanimate is a bit low vs delver without 4 strix but you could be playing 2nd pierce, reanimate, and a specific removal instead of 3rd surgical, 4th strix and Dimir Charm.
I guess most of my mtg play will be with the format in my signature now.^^

Very pleased to say I'm playing 17 cantrips instead of 14.
After seeing the lists published,I realized Stoneblade is not playing Wastlands now. Hopefully the trend continues so I can cut Defense Grid for Boseju.

I was also at Worcester and was on a grixis cunning wish list. Lost the second to last round to Roland chang (grixis delver who ended up winning) not to be able to draw in the last round. He literally kept waste landing keeping me on 3 mana, in turn top decked daze when hellbent in 2 of the 3 games to get there Super tilting lol wondering if anyone has been playing any other new variants or new cards to help in the current meta?
(Grixis)Interesting,what's your 75?
Have you tested just UR Burning Wish?
Stumbled on this list and it's been testing well. I tried burning wish the other night and I didnt like it being at sorcery speed but I can see the appeal.

Sideboard Cards(15)

1 Engineered Explosives
The thought Erasure has been bonkers!!!! The card I have found the most frustrating is lim dulls vault. The fact that it doesn't replace it sell has boned me in alot of situations. It's an amazing set up card but sometimes I need 2 cards out of the 5 and if you don't have brainstorm you cant get there. I think I'm going to replace it with impulse and another predict.
