    Budget is not an issue, just proxies. They're not the type to go to a tournament.

    for new legacy players, death and taxes would be terrible, as would tin fins. i would throw them on something like merfolk to teach them what to counter, as tempo is usually fun to. have one of them play a simple combo deck, like sneak/show, they can learn a lot from that about siding, and then i would say an aggro deck also. maybe jund. That way you have a cycle of what generally beats each other, so they can sort of see the MU's. They will also learn how to side properly against each type, merfolk bringing in submerges, sneak and show bringing in defense grids, and jund bringing in more discard for their respective difficult match ups.
