I actually like the cute faces, especially on the ladies. I think it gives the overall piece a lighter and more energetic feel.

My preference so far is for the all blue look as well. It's a nod to the old playmat as well as the traditional Source banners.

Are Abrupt Decay or Deathrite Shaman hiding somewhere I can't see? It'd be a shame to have a Source playmat without them ;)

This playmat is amazing. So many easter eggs. I was sad to not see Jace, but then remembered you pointing out that Wizards has a copyright on their name-brand characters.
