[Article] Winning the Bazaar of Moxen - Part2

Hey guys, SCG just published the 2nd part of my article/report about my 1st place finish at the Bazaar of Moxen three weeks ago.

28-1-2 with Elves! Winning the Bazaar of Moxen - Part 2

I really appreciated all the great feedback I received on Part 1, totally didn't expect it. You guys are awesome! Thank you and Dankeschön

Both parts of these articles were fantastic. I'd love to read more of your writing. Your 28-1-2 record at major events is simply amazing.

Could you explain for me what went wrong in game two of round 13 against ANT? I can't watch the coverage at the moment. Thanks.

YOU are awesome, guys, seriously! Thank you so much!

Haha, and look what I just received! I had a random order from Magiccardsmarket delivered today with this on the back of the envelope:

My postman just delivered about 40 letters over the course of last week. While he might not now what a "Mr BoM" is, maybe he thinks I'm somehow famous now, lol. At least that's better than looking like a drug dealer, lol.

In the states that might be construed as "Mr. Bag of Meth" and you'd have the DEA on your nuts.

As I missed to congratulate you in Paris, I'll do that now: Congratulations, great record! It is great how many Germans had made Top 8 in the last years of the Bazaar of Moxen-main-event-tournaments, and even how many times we did win them :).

By the way, great report. Maybe we'll see each other at some random big tournaments in the next time :).

Re: [Article] Winning the Bazaar of Moxen - Part2

I have some questions about Elves:

You were playing 2 Mindbreak Trap @ BoM but mentioned in your article that Thorn of Amethyst could also fill up those slots. I am actually doing that for quite some time now. Trap could be good vs some matchups but those slots should fight ANT the most (for me/in my meta), and trap can be very bad in that matchup. But even while I'm 100% sure I should play Thorn, I'm still not sure when to board it in.

YES: ANT, TES, Omnidreams, Tin Fins, Belcher , Oops All Spells and everything that fast
NOT SURE: Reanimate (but almost sure :P), Sneaky Show, Dredge (I guess you board it in against Manaless Dredge). And while I don't think it's necessary, some would also bring it in vs RUG Delver.

    What do you think?

And: You like to shave creatures vs most combo decks. Why is that better than -3 Symbiote -3 Visionary? Or is it just to reduce the odds of drawing multiples (I can imagine), because all those creatures are 'not bad' but become worse if you have more of them/you prefer to see one of the others than another one of one card. And why not cut 1 of the 2 Arbors vs combo? With the exception of dredge. I think the manabase can handle that and you won’t have to use them for blocking tricks or to fetch one after a sweeper (most of the time), but still have the option to zenith 1.
Btw, I tested your list with the small sb change and I think sideboarding becomes a little easier when playing 61 cards main ^^, mostly because you standard cut 1 Craterhoof most of the time! Thanks for proving that playing 61 cards is not always bad! I already congratulated you in the hotel (I was at BoM with Jamie), but still want to say that it was awesome that you made such a winning strike trough several events with the little green men! And thanks for the reports! They were great!

You should take that question to the elf thread so we don't bother these fine nonforested wizards with such elfy nonsense.

Also congrats again Julian, Lieutenant of Llanowar and Champion of BOM! That never gets unfun to say!

Oh I did already Danyul, but no one answered. Julian just mentioned in Elves! that he is a bit bussy and will give some answers soon ^_^! So I won't bother you guys here. And I sure know where to find the Elves! thread, I visit The Source every day, but thanks :P!
