    [Denton, TX] Vintage December 28 @ Madness Comics & Games (just north of Dallas)

    VINTAGE!
    December 28th, 2013

    Registration 10:00 - 11:45 Late Entrants will not play round 1.
    Play starts promptly at Noon.

    Swiss with a cut to top 4/8.
    Entry $30.00 (each player adds $12.00 in store credit to the prize pool)
    Event will be unsanctioned, but run at Competitive REL. Decklists are required.
    Head Judge is L2 Jim Shuman.

    PROXIES:
    You are allowed unlimited proxies.

    PRIZE STRUCTURE:
    8-20 players:
    1st: 1 Grim Tutor (Near Mint)
    2nd: playset of judge foil Crucible of Worlds
    3rd/4th: 50% of prize pool (store credit)

    21-34 players:
    1st: Piece of Power (will update when I know which piece)
    2nd: 1 Grim Tutor (Near Mint)
    3rd/4th: 2 judge foil Crucible of Worlds each.
    5-8: 25% of prize pool (store credit)


    Prizes guaranteed as long as there are 8 players.
    More prizes may be added depending on attendance.
    Attendance is capped at 34 players due to space limitations.
    You may preregister by calling the store and speaking with Jim Shuman.

    There are 3 ways to make proxies. All proxies subject to approval.

    1) Take a basic land card and write the correct characteristics and oracle wording of the card on it with a fine tip marker. NO Ball point pens.
    2) Take a card that shares some of the characteristics with the card that is being proxied and erase any characteristics that do not match, replacing them with the correct characteristics and oracle wording.
    3) Print out all 75 cards and slip the paper into the sleeve in front of a basic land.

    Sadly I will be out of town that weekend, but thank you for posting this/madness for hosting this! How often are these events held at the store?

    Big events like this are roughly once a quarter (the next one will be posted sooner I swear)

    But we are going to start doing proxy vintage on the 2nd & 4th sundays of every month. I'm going to build a viable Eternal community if it kills me.

    Where do you normally play? If you are in Dallas I'm certain I've seen you around. I judge a bunch of the larger events.

    That would be fantastic. I normally play legacy at Madness in Plano when I can make it out. I currently live in Carrollton.
