If it's a series, I think the whole Gerard Sisay Weatherlight Saga destroy Voldemort, I mean Yawgmoth, plotline would be great. Unfortunately, newer players don't know much about it.
I think the movie will not be for us. Duals of the Planeswalkers has successfully drawn in players from one genre (video game players). It exists for that very reason and no other. The movie is almost certainly being made for the same purpose. It is not for us. It almost does not matter what we think.

I'm predicting an angsty teen Jace who goes through the stages of being an emo normal walker to an emo planeswalker to universally hated for turning into generic planeswalker (still emo, just got a haircut). Any news on this? It has been quite some time and I can't find squat on the googleverse. I think I will be waiting to sell my collection until after I see the results of this on the marketplace. But I can't see any info whatsoever.

Well if it is anything like the cut scenes in the new duels game then it has a pretty good chance of being the best unintentional comedy of the year.
I have a feeling that this is one of those movies where I want to be hammered the first time I see it so that I can properly appreciate it.

Seriously, there is an incredible lack of any information whatsoever on this movie. There is ZERO official information for over two years now. Is this development hell we are talking about?

This is no development hell - this is Wizards' modus operandi.
Remember how long it took them to release V4? Or bring back leagues?
Expect a release 5-7 years after its initial annoucement. They might set up the Gatewatch storyline and then have the film about that.
