I don't know that the author was going for funny here (I don't think it is funny at all). They seem more like political comics with a cool message in each.

EDIT: Oops. The page did not load all of them at first. I like these and I did laugh!

Also, "light" and "hearty" are antonyms.

"Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."
"Politicians are like diapers. They should be changed often and for the same reason."
"Governing is too important to be left to people as silly as politicians."
"Politicians were mostly people who'd had too little morals and ethics to stay lawyers."

The tendrils one is great. I always wondered in terms of us being "Planeswalkers" what that would look like if it were a real battle

Yeah, that's a great comic strip. Always good for a chuckle.

Some of you guys might not have been around when UGMadness.net was a thing (2004-2007), so be sure to check it out. It's probably gonna make you laugh a lot if you like Magic satire.

    Here's one of my favorites:

The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
    1. Discuss the unbanning of Land Tax Earthcraft.
    2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
    3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
    4. Stifle Standstill.
    5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
    6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
    7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).

I love the storm one, but I think it would've been even funnier if there had been a few panels of the Storm wizard doing apparently innocuous things like breaking petals (Lotus Petal) or just thinking really hard (Brainstorm/Ponder), and THEN suddenly throwing a zillion Tendrils of Agony at the opponent.
