Lately, I've been thinking about getting together an unpowered-but-competitive list that revolves around resistor/taxing effect without dumping all my savings into a P9.
At this point, I'm thinking about Junk in regards to colors to include Thalia, Gaddock Teeg and Bob.
As anything like this been done before?
You probably want to play a Fish variant with some mix of hatebears including:
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
Null Rod
Gorilla Shaman
Tarmogoyf
Dark Confidant
White trash is a successful unpowered taxing vintage deck. It is pure white, however, so it doesn't splash for bob. You could tweak it as you desire. This got 7th at a powered Vintage tournament in the past couple of months:
Lands (22)
11 Plains
4 Wasteland
3 Ghost Quarter
3 Cavern of Souls
1 Strip Mine
Creatures (23)
4 Dryad Militant
3 leonin Relic-Warder
3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
3 Grand Abolisher
3 Phyrexian Revoker
2 Kataki, War's Wage
2 Juton Grunt
2 Aven Mindcensor
1 Student of Warfare
Spells (15)
4 Mental Misstep
4 Grafdigger's Cage
4 Path to Exile
3 Stony Silence
Sideboard (15)
3 Abolish
3 Swords to Plowshares
2 Tivadar of Thorn
1 Disenchant
1 Surgical Extraction
1 Tivadar's Crusade
1 Tormod's Crypt
1 Pithing Needle
1 Kataki, War's Wage
1 Ghost Quarter
Stony Silence is a better Null Rod since most hate is artifact hate and not enchantments.

I've also seen some White Trash lists with Chrome Mox to power out earlier taxing effects or Stony Silence if you feel you need/want that.

I guess you need spirit of labyrinth.
I think this one is really strong:

Team Blood, Beijing.
Currently play: Sneaky Show/ Lands
I suppose you could substitute the Moxes for either a Chrome Mox if you feel you need the early acceleration or whatnot. It would be decently easy to unpower that deck.

Been toying with the list for about a week and a half now,
played a fair amount of games against Gush Storm, 4-Colors Control and other powered decks
11 Plains
3 Cavern Of Souls
3 Ghost Quarters
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
4 Thalia, Guardian...
3 Dryad Militant
3 Judge's Familiar
3 Jotun Grunt
3 Leonin Arbiter
2 Grand Abolisher
2 Spirit Of The Labyrinth
2 Kataki, The War Wage
2 Phyrexian Revoker
4 Mental Misstep
3 Graffdigger's Cage
3 Path To Exile
2 Stony Silence
2 Rest In Peace
SB...
W.I.P.
Spirit is amazing.
Possibly going to 4.
I think with Dryad Militant, Green Sun's Zenith becomes quite a bit more attractive. Hosing a number of strategies without being affected by summoning sickness is pretty boss. You could also run Deathrite Shamans and Scoozes to shore up gy strategies. Thalia+Spirit+Waste+Strip+(possibly)Stony Silence also seems good. I'd want a Knight or two to Waste-lock them, but that's just me.
That's what I've been building for unpowered Vintage.
4 Ghost Quarter
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
4 Horizon Canopy
4 Razorverge Thicket
2 Savannah
3 Karakas
3 Gaddock Teeg
4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
4 Leonin Arbiter
3 Aven Mindcensor
4 Elvish Spirit Guide
4 Phyrexian Revoker
3 Qasali Pridemage
3 Scavenging Ooze
4 Stony Silence
4 Path to Exile
2 Kataki, War's Wage
SB: 4 Grafdigger's Cage
SB: 4 Rest in Peace
SB: 1 Gaddock Teeg
SB: 1 Aven Mindcensor
SB: 1 Qasali Pridemage
SB: 2 Kataki, War's Wage
SB: 2 Swords to Plowshares
Greetings
I drooled. This is the first Vintage deck I like. So much LD. So much green and white dudes!
Why no love for more Savannahs? What am I missing? Also, wouldn't LftL be good somewhere in there? And, what do you think about some big creature like KotR? Or is it unnecessary?
This deck looks hilarious. On top of that, I think it would cost me about $20 to finish up.
I may be going to Eternal Weekend and I was planning on only doing Legacy. However, I would LOVE to give this a shot.
Additionally, it seems this deck has placed a few decent finishes on the MTGO Vintage Dailies (MTGGoldfish stats). Again, seems like something great to mess around with.
This deck is a victim of consistency. Drawing what you don't need at the wrong time, drawing exactly what you need at the right time, or powering out the exact answer T1 to hose them are all common occurences. If lady luck is on your side, it makes it difficult for most decks to keep up with you. This deck can almost never play catchup though, so you gotta make the most of your first two or so turns!

I'm trying this one in MWS. Interesting deck, indeed. I like it.

This is what I'm trying for the last several weeks. It's not exactly different from Einherjer's list. The deck is extremely funny to play. I'd love to squeeze Wilt-Leaf Liege in, as someties it takes whole eternity before the 2/x creatures finish the game.
Yeah, sadly this is true. From what testing games i played, I realized that it's not that horrible to start my game on turn2. Vintage is not turn1kill format, and the consistency with which I deploy lock pieces that are also threats is amazing. Most of the opposing decks pack little to none removal, so if I'll survive turn1-3, I'm mostly fine. Sb brings specialized tools against most prevalent archetypes, and they bring hardly anything relevant.
It's not bad for a budget deck, I think it shouldn't fare worse than 2:4 drop...
With UR Delver and Cruise decks becoming more popular in Vintage, what do you guys think about how White Trash performs currently? I haven't played any since last July at this point so I haven't tested anything.
