If you have a Mox and two lands you can Wish turn one and lay a hate bear up to 3cc on turn two. If you have Exploration and four (mana producing) lands you can still Wish for and play a 2cc bear turn two, provided you have a white source.
With eight accelerants, maybe this is reasonable odds for a turn two play (with mulligans)? My instinct is with yours - these won't help that much vs combo and they slow us down too much otherwise. Still it's good to think outside the box. Maybe a more white heavy build (Karakas, Canopy, and Savannah main) could support a wish board of hate-bears and be a good thing?
It might make boarding awkward vs combo - you'd need to bring in hate bears but leave at least one relevant Wish target I guess.

Was thinking along the same lines. sylvan safekeeper, thought-knot seer, phyrexian revoker, ingot chewer and deathrite shaman also came to mind.
The other thing i like about wish is that a piece of the combo is "safe" from surgical extraction if you keep a DD there. I lose because of that stupid card more often than I'd like...

yeah, I don't necessarily think it will pan out better than a stock list, but I plan on trying it out. Never really had creatures in the board until recently.
I had the same idea about the rec sage and prime time. rec sage could save me a krosan slot perhaps.
Pretty sure it is too slow to be considered here, but the beast is quite nice

I started my lands experience with the Bant Living Wish/Intuition build [from I believe GP Paris] called Farmland. Living Wish was very nice for many of the aforementioned reasons, but certainly slows the deck down - without FOW, it is possibly too slow. I have noticed that more and more lists are shirking Manabond, and as such the quick combo often takes a back seat to the control game - perhaps a playstyle preference, but I find myself gravitating towards a control game more often than not.
As far as some wish possibilities go for the board:
Thrun, The Last Troll - Sigarda was always great for me, Thrun is probably similar in function.
Throne of the High City - Possible engine to tutor for in Miracles match-up? More speculative, but I like the card.
The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale #2 :(
Stage/Depths numbers 4 & 4.
With a white splash, the following become options:
Gaddock Teeg
Ethersworn Canonist
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
Useless Living Wish anecdote: I was playing in one of the SCG 4 round Legacy Challenges to prep for the next day's event with Farmland. I was missing one card from my sideboard, and had it proxied on a Rootwalla. Rather than tracking down the missing card, I just ran the event with a sharpied Rootwalla as my 15th card. In a long, drawn-out game against Death & Taxes, I wished for the Rootwalla post-Supreme Verdict and put him in the abyss with Magic's greatest Lizard :)
This is probably not as good as Tireless Tracker. If the Architect gets killed before you have all the energy to make a creature you've lost out on the investment, but if the Tracker gets killed before you can cash in the clues there are still clues sitting around.
Rampaging Baloth might be a better way to get free creatures off landfall, but if you're investing 4GG into Baloth why not play Primeval Titan?

Hi all! I am still a very novice player with Lands, but I've been doing surprisingly well with the deck considering how long I've been on it. I went 3-1 last saturday at the LGS. I am having trouble with the Aggro Loam match-up in particular. They seem to have quite a lot of tricks they can do to mess up our game plan, and this last saturday I could not get around Knight of the Reliquary.
Any advice about how to navigate this match-up, and suggestions on sideboarding for it would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Honestly, Bog. Take their graveyard off them. Yes, they still have tricks up their sleeves after, but if you keep hitting them with Bog, their long term power diminishes. The other thing to do is Waste lock them. But I like a well timed Bog followed by a Punishing Fire.
She has found love. What can we do but wait for the wedding invitations?
Has anyone seen David Long's new list from an EE5 satellite event? a molten vortex/PF combined package. but the kicker...4 ghost quarters, no ports, no karakas.

Saw him play that. Eldrazi was pretty popular at our store and it seems fine vs them since crops are nixed by chalice fast. Vs miracles it was a bit slow and opp wasn't remembering all the counterbalance triggers, but it helps control the lategame entreat. Teamed with boseiju it makes sense to drop ports.
Unless I mix the usernames, I remember that you had a strong will to talk about your lord and savior Primeval Titan :)
BTW, I never had the chance to play it, eventhough I had 2 in SB for a few months.
Do you think an aggro SB with 4x TT, 2 titans and some other stuff is a viable plan against Miracle/GY hate, or does it weaken the matchup too much against aggro?
Maybe throwing in some white and playing Thalia/Gaddock is an option?
I have two byes to EE5 now with lands I'll put up a brief report later, though with crappy notes and a lack of sleep won't be as detailed.
That david long deck is sure odd with ghost quarter in lieu of ports. The vortex/pfire split isn't that odd. Interesting to see he's still messing with warping wail. Looks like LOTS of aggro at that event.
Knight is a real pita and you need to kill it fast. Without knight active the games becomes much better and with acceleration your deck can do what it's supposed to.
Aint't that the truth Something to be learned the hard way.
