    Burning Inquiry seems like a card.

    Yea I'd try cutting the last 4 non land for 4 inquiry and cutting
    or 2 bedlam reveler for some kind of desperate ritual or something like that.

    Punishing Phoenix

    //Spells: 28
    4 Rite of Flame
    4 Gamble
    4 Faithless Looting
    4 Burning Inquiry
    4 Goblin Lore
    4 Control of the Court
    4 Punishing Fire

    //Creatures: 12
    4 Arclight Phoenix
    4 Hollow One
    4 Bedlam Reveler

    //Lands: 20
    4 Grove of the Burnwillows
    4 Barbarian Ring
    12 Mountain

    If you're already doing random discards, Gamble seems like a must. It'll find you Phoenixes for gas and Revelers for draws.

    Punishing Fire could be good tech. It gives you more value you're OK with randomly discarding, and an easy way to refill your hand with spells for R (to have spells to cast lategame or fodder to feed to random discards to increase the probability of keeping better cards in your hand).

    Barbarian Ring should be really easy to turn on, no reason not to run 4 copies.

    Depending on how greedy the deck gets with draw/discard effects, Squee, Goblin Nabobs could even be good just to give you more card fodder.

    Control of the Court isn't on MTGO and Phoenix is ridiculous in price, i was willing to try it out. looks fun.

    FTW I like what you are doing here. Gamble is close. Not sure.

    But the burning inquiry, punishing fire, grove is a must!

    Wasteland seems unnecessary.

    I think you need manamorphose or some other “free card” that cantrips.

    With manamorpose you can play rite of flames into manamorphose, into a goblin lore. Discard Phoenix and go to combat. You could conceptually have a turn 1 with 3 arclights in the yard and 4 hollow ones on turn 1!

    Bedlam reveled May be bad and should be relaxed with some othercard drawer.

    There are decent “free” red spells like pyrokensis and cave-in that can also be played. But in all honest, gut shot might be the very best one. With cards like Surgical Extraction in the sideboard

    Could try a Library of Leng to see what it does.

    Can this go two-color? Going Red/Blue opens up Cepahlid Coliseum, Careful Study, Izzet Charm, and Tolarian Winds.

    Flashback cards like Cabal Therapy,Lava Dart,Conflagrate or Firecat Blitz could pad the spell count.

    Is the curve tall enough to make Desparate Ritual make sense.
