Completely missed it that this one is Legacy, too:

Miracles almost every round, Miracles by Briksza, by Duke, by Lossett.

I doubt Rudy Briksza understands the Miracles vs. Lands MU.

I don't watch it, either, for this very reason.

I'm kinda spoiled after the GP coverage we got from Channel Fireball.

Yeah with a GP the stream tends to be focused on the game and cool decks of the format; SCG is focused on their Players to Watch Leaderboard and selling booster boxes, booster cases, fat packs and more~@#%!

both the second, and third time. Not sure if the Miracles mirrors were any better, or Lands vs Lands.

Easy way to decide whether to tune in, especially if it's not in your timezone

    - go to bed
    - wake up the following day and check twitter.com/scglive
    - see that my hero max tietze is playing again
    - see that the rest of the field is beyond boring except for soldier stompy
    - watch max tietze and soldier stompy both lose
    - turn off twitch.

    simple!

I am just glad they don't spend a whole day talking about how Lands is a deck and show it some respect now.
It is better to ask and look stupid then keep your mouth shut and remain so.

The amusing thing is they talk about how expensive it is. RG Lands costs less to build than a blue deck. Sure, Tabernacle can't port to other decks but neither can Shardless Agent or Ancestral Vision or Creeping Tar Pit.

    Wastelands: Every deck
Rishadan Port: Goblins, Death & Taxes
Mox Diamond: STOMPY! And bad Knight of the Reliquary deck
Exploration: Enchantress and weird green versions of 12post
    Punishing Fire: Jund
Grove of the Burnwillows: Jund and Tron
Crop Rotation: Who cares? It's $1
Taiga: Jund and bad Temur Delver builds
Dark Depths: Bad Knight of the Reliquary decks, 12post
    Thespian's Stage: Who cares? It's $2
Life from the Loam: Random green splash decks in sideboard and those same green Mox Diamond decks
    Maze of Ith: Maverick
Karakas: Maverick, Death & Taxes, and other bad Knight of the Reliquary decks

Yep, cards don't really port to other decks...

7-1, Punishing Blue has Chalice in play.

    Opponent plays Delver. OK.

7-1, Punishing Abzan has Chalice on 1 in play.

    Grixis Delver opponent plays Delver.

Abzan player remembers the trigger in his draw step and still crushes anyways.

So, the first round today was Elves! vs Storm, and the Storm player punts G2 and still wins the game, and the match.

    Good times.

Is that a showcase video why Top should be banned for time reasons? Because holy fuck, this is annoying to watch.

No, it's a showcase in judges not giving out slow play and stalling infractions. Gentile was intentionally running the clock and playing as slowly as possible. Joe was using his Top at a reasonable pace.

    23 Miracles
    13 Grixis Delver
    7 Storm
    7 Death and Taxes
    7 Lands
    5 RUG Delver
    5 BUG Delver
    5 Aggro Loam
    5 Elves

The worst part is that no 12 post players day 2'ed.

I've played against Gentile in a couple of IQs and Opens in the northeast, while he normally plays lands, and he definitely pushes the boundaries of legal play. I had to call a judge to watch our match because he was being very cagey.

He played the same in G1 and G2. There should clearly be called judge on him in game 1 already, you can't justify calling it so late in game 2, when he didn't change his pace at all.

Re: SCG Open New Jersey discussion

Gentile should have gotten a slow play warning already in game 1, but Joe didn't call the Judge :/

    @Meta: http://www.starcitygames.com/events/...reakdown_.html

    Oh look, Miracles...

    Besides this, nothing unusual.

    Greetings,

...That's not a card I expected to see on camera in Legacy.

Nor did I expect it to win.

Garruk Relentless has a history of appearing in Maverick (and similar midrange) decks. It is also historically the nuts against Miracles.
