A crazy guess: At the SoI prerelease.
Some of my friends sell records,
some of my friends sell drugs.

The start of the prereleases. The Comp Rules document will have the effective date once it's updated.
“It's possible. But it involves... {checks archives} Nature's Revolt, Opalescence, two Unstable Shapeshifters (one of which started as a Doppelganger), a Tide, an animated land, a creature with Fading, a Silver Wyvern, some way to get a creature into play in response to stuff, some way to get a land into play in response to stuff (a different land from the animated land), and one heck of a Rube Goldberg timing diagram.

Also note the simplified Madness rules. Reminder text:

If you discard this card, discard it into exile. When you do, you may cast it for its madness cost or put it into your graveyard.
This templating seems very simple and not as headache-y as before. Maybe the reason they decided to bring it back. The article mentions that this is a functional change, which effects abilities like Jace, Vryn's Prodigy. If you have 4 cards in your graveyard and you discard a Fiery Temper, the Temper goes to exile immediately. Jace's ability continues to resolve, sees that there are still only 4 cards in your graveyard, and does not flip. Then you are able to cast Fiery Temper for its madness cost immediately after.
