In many SB i see 4 Leyline of the Void and 3 Helm of Obedience. The plan about leylines is clear, but for what matchups we want Helm of Obedience? Sneak? Or what else? Could you explain it to me please?
Have any of you tried Tangle Wire ? Did you like it?
Sadly, it feels like Eldrazi is taking a beating lately. I can't seem to win a single round. I keep having 1-3 showings at weekly events.
I think people have adjusted to the fear factor this deck brought and it just seems to die.
That and I cannot draw TKS's or Eldrazi Temples to save my life.
I have a decent amount of success still with the deck. I have shifted to using 1 mainboard Endbring and 1 Oblivion Sower.
I went 3-2 at my last big legacy and missed top 8 because of one of my breakers. But! Deck's not bad by any means. Just there isn't a ton of combo out there now for it to shit on.
Had a 4-1 and 5-0 at my local game store in January with the following list:
Land (24)
4 Ancient Tomb
4 Eldrazi Temple
4 Eye of Ugin
4 Cavern of Souls
4 Wasteland
2 City of Traitors
1 Wastes
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
Artifact (6)
4 Chalice of the Void
2 Umezawa's Jitte
Creature (26)
4 Eldrazi Mimic
4 Endless One
4 Thought-Knot Seer
4 Reality Smasher
4 Matter Reshaper
3 Simian Spirit Guide
3 Phyrexian Metamorph
Sorcery/Instant (4)
2 All is Dust
2 Dismember
Sideboard (15)
4 Thorn of Amethyst
4 Leyline of the Void
2 Warping Wail
2 Oblivion Sower
2 Ratchet Bomb
1 Karakas
Been lucky with draws and matches but overall the list felt pretty solid. The meta is very random and normally has around 25-30 people. Fatal Push hasn't punished me yet!
I'm currently running the same list with the following changes
+1 Karakas
+2 Endbringer
-1 Phyrexian Metamorph
-2 All Is Dust
Board:
-2 Sower
+2 Pithing Needle
How do you like the Metamorphs? I never felt like they were all that great in my testing. It's great to copy a TKS or Smasher but they really felt win-more to me sometimes (Though, if I were to try and replace them, I'm not sure what I would test in their stead)
I wanted to squeeze some Sowers in my MB/SB somewhere, too (maybe a 1/1 Endbringer/Sower split) but I like the needles too much in the SB to take them out. Not really sure how I feel about EB yet, I might just cut them for Sower.
It's probably a wrong idea but did any of you think about walking ballista? Not more than 2 copies MD.
Hey,
I've gotten quite bored with the current decks I play, and eldrazi has sparked my interest because of the sequening required to be successful, as well as all the interesting lines of play you can take from the game starts, but I'm afraid I would fall too far behind in the mirror, due to not being familiar with the matchup.
So, how does the eldrazi mirror play out?
The Metamorphs have served me well. TKS and Smasher are great to copy (most of my matches it has been a TKS though). I haven't had the pleasure to copy something amazing from my opponent yet. In the ANT matchup it is a great extra Thorn that isn't taxed by the other Thorn(s). Only once against UR Delver I haven't been able to cast it (scared of PoP and its awkward to cast with Ugin as one of your lands as well as the cost of 2 life).
I think Sower is overall better unless you face a lot of combo in your local meta. I will most likely have Metamorphs as a sideboard card going forward.
Im surprised no one commented on the 1st place Eldrazi list from SCG Balt with 2 MD AiD. No Leylines in the board either, which is different than the traditional decklists.
